That's why us bloggers are always looking for the right niche. What is a niche after all? It's part of the long tail! It's a highly specialized focus for a blog or website. A good niche that is outside the mainstream can mean that you have few, if any competitors! That is when you can write long tail eBooks and such and market them. You will rank highly in search engines too for your keywords, because of the fact that there are not many others in your niche (that's the definition of the long tail, right?). Anybody who honestly says that money cannot be made by bloggers in the long tail just hasn't spent enough time looking for the earning opportunities.
