Page Strength Tool

SEO experts say that Google Pagerank is a thing of the past — it’s not that realiable as it was before of a true measure of a site’s improtance. Hundreds of other factors play a role and most SEO professionals who really knows their stuff relies on these other factors.

Marc shares with us this new tool by SEOmoz Page Strength Tool.

SEOmoz’s Page Strength tool is intended to serve as an alternative to Google’s PageRank score in the toolbar, offering insight into how valuable, important and popular a site or page is as compared to others on the web. If a particular page is on a very popular domain, it may be considered more important than if it’s on a domain that doesn’t receive much attention and, likewise, the homepage (or root URL) of a domain will often be considerably more popular/important than an internal page buried deep in the site’s architecture. In many cases, data may not be entirely accurate, as the search engines and other sources that provide information fluctuate.

The numbers being crunched here can be individually pulled out of Yahoo or Google but what’s unique with this one is that there’s a formula at the back-end showing the Page Strength (PS) of your site.

I tried it with several of my sites and it seems to be consistent. My blog is showing a PS6 even if it’s onyl PR5 and I have another PR6 site which is only registering a PS3 on this tool. Go try it out for some fun.

SEOMOZ’s page strength tool is an excellent tool and its more near to reality. It helps in checking the basic aspects of seo and also lets you know how to improve or perform better in the SERP’s.
