Don’t choose Globe!!!! (read on…)

Globe Telecom sells a variety of internet packages. Several of these packages are advertised as being ‘Unlimited’. The adverts lead customers to believe that they will recieve unlimited internet access (data transfer) for set periods of time, in return for their payment.

However, Globe has a (very hidden) policy which actually sets strict limits on the data usage allowed to customers. This policy is the ‘Fair Use Policy’. It unilaterally sets an ‘average’ data consumption limit for customers. If customers exceed this limit, then they are deemed to be “abusing” their contract and their package is suspended.

One example is the Globe Tattoo Broadband, on pre-pay. This is advertised as being “unlimited” broadband access. The customer pays based on the amount of time that they remain connected and using the broadband internet.

However, the Fair Use Policy actually limits pre-pay Tattoo customers to a maximum of 1 Gb (gigabyte) of date use per day. This is not made clear to customers at any time when they purchase their Tattoo usb stick or buy load/credit to use that service.

When a customer exceeds that 1GB limit, then their SIM card is blocked from internet access for 24 hours. Again, they are not warned that this can or will happen in advance.

To put this data limit (1GB) into perspective…. the advertised maximum speed of Globe Tattoo Broadband is 3Mb per second. This means that, at full speed, the user will exhaust their data usage (1Gb = 1024 Mb) within 6 minutes!!!

How can it be legal the Globe advertises and charges for “UNLIMITED” internet, when in fact, the maximum daily useage at advertised speed is a pathetic 6 minutes per 24 hours?????

wala ako masabi, daming reklamo. Nasa remote area ako ng Pilipinas at gamit ko Globe tattoo, sa totoo lang, ilang beses ng nadisconnect ito since kaninang nagstart akong mag surf, siguro paubos na rin load ko. Wala naman akong magagawa kasi mahina talaga dito, walang 3g kaya lang mas mabilis ang tattoo kumpara sa ibang products.

Nakakaantok nga eh, siguro mga 30-45 secs bago maopen ang site na gusto mo.

i am from Cebu, and went to Negros last week for a vacation, tried to use my Globe Tattoo but found out it was out of load, so I decided to use our postpaid sim card inside the Globe Tattoo USB, speed was slow, so i kept on connecting and disconnecting every few mins, and got continuous net later in the evening, for 2 days use, i spent around 3hrs of total net time. now i am billed P21,000 for my usage. WTF?!

I’m living in nosthern caloocan, m.m., near san jose del monte, bulacan, i would say i’m quite dis-appointed with my smart broadband, thats why, i’m looking for a better alternative. some say wi-tribe is good.

Walang silbi yung sinasabi nilang SuperSurf 50 “unlimited” kuno for 24 hours!!! After kong mag-surf ng 23 hours, hindi na ko uli maka-register, sabi ng support nila, um-over daw usage ko, kaya gamitin ko na lang daw yung remaining na load ko. Tinatanong ko siya kung ano baseline at um-over ako ng usage, wala naman siyang maisagot sa akin. Itatapon ko na lang yung SIM ng Globe Tattoo, makalipat nga sa iba… Hehehe!

Globe Broadband Tattoo sucks very very hard… Madalas ang ‘the connection was reset’ while nagsu-surf ako, it’s just so stupid na pabagsak-bagsak ang network nila. I also tried calling their customer service, pero naputol din lang ang linya, ang tanging narinig ko lang sa sa agent ‘Sir, sorry we’re having problems.’

Buy the cheapest HUAWEI brand broadband kit (USB donggle) then google/download V4mpire software. You can open-line the kit using the software. After unlocking the USB donggle you can then use whatever network (SMART, GLOBE or SUN) SIM you think gives the strongest signal.

Well… so Far I’ve haven’t tried the Tattoo yet, but since maraming negative comments ang tattoo I’ve switched to Sun , OK nmn signal sa Pasig , Rosario. bihirang umabot ng 2mbps and yet sa gabi mga 5 pm onwards nuknukan n ng bagal ung connection,maybe its because dumarami nga ung user, but they have to do something to maintain their product’s credibility.

ok naman signal sa padre garcia batangas ng Globe Tattoo. Free lang pag bumili ka ng Laptop ng Acer. Ive been using it for a month and once pa lang ako nakaexperience ng bumagal connection. laging 3 mbps connection ko.
