While the fastest option/plan currently available on Globe WiMax is only up to 1Mbps, the network can actually deliver real-world speeds of up to 8Mbps. We did the test yesterday with an uncapped WiMax connection at GreenHills, San Juan.
SpeedTest detected a maximum connection speed of 8.27Mbps download and 2.58Mbps upload. But again, this is the uncapped connection. You’ll get between 384Kbps to 1Mbps when you’re on a regular WiMax plan.
I’m still pretty curious with WiMax so I’ve applied for a regular 1Mbps subscription to see how it fares here in my area in Makati. Anybody else out there who have tried Globe WiMax? What’s your experience so far?

pag ganan lage nanyari sau..itawag mu sa globe yan..at kc ung globe 3 days bago maactivate ung bago mung modem so wait for 3 days..then kung ganun pa din call mu ung globe at sabihin mu ung prob mu..
ung globe ko so far so good naman xa..nung 3rd wik ko lng nagkprobkea tinawag ko sa kanila tas inaus nila, aus nagloloko pa din nung una pero nung naka 1 month na ko ok na xa lage na 1mbps ung connection ko at 3 bars lage..right now mag 3 months na ko sa globe..

i got a wimax 1mbps thinking that i can have a better down load speed and unlimited dowm load………not until globe put my account to what they call fare user policy….. globe can cut your speed if you exceed 21g of down load…..i called the hot line to complain about having expereinced a very slow speed on my internet…. upon checking my account the operator told me that my account was put to ” fare user policy ” becuase i exceed 21g of down load….. i said what the fuck….. i signed up with unlimited used and there is a limit pala? globe is full of shit….. i think this is unfare and illegal trading and marketing….coz when i signed the contract i did not see any thing that said until 21g of down load only….so mga pare if you are experiencing a slow on your internet….its not technical…. globe put you on a fare user policy….and i think this is illigal…..sorry for my barok english …..i just hate globe illigal practiced

thats not a “real world” speed at all. You are testing to a location on the same small ass island. Try testing that connection to a place somewhere else in the world that actually hosts the majority of internet content like the U.S., Europe, or even japan. I bet you can’t get passed 1mbit even “uncapped”. Philippine internet connections are a joke.

Try using Glasnost to check whether is shaping your traffic. Google Glasnost.
Globe Internet service is sucks, mas mabilis pa dial-up. note that I’m already subscribing 1 Mbps. Bad trip.
Pag malapit kayo sa cellsite kahit papano makakasagap kayo ng ok na signal, tsaka kung mgspeedtest kayo gamitin nyo ung server from the other country dun nyo malalaman kung gaano talaga ang speed ng Globe Wimax.

Putang inang globe yan. 5 days pa bago na activate ung account ko. tapos. ang Chat nila laging Nagddisconnect after few minutes.
pag ttawag ka ng hotline 211 putang ina mga scripted din ang sinasabi. eh wala naman sila mattulong lagi pa under maintenance. tpos nung na activate na ung account ko. putang inang bilis! 314kb/s bilis noh? is this the 1mb plan of them? nung first month ko dati. nasa 900kb – 1mb. pero nung 2nd plan ko na. putang ina wala kwenta. dapat i boycott tong mga to eh. mas mabuti pa connection ng ibang bansa. ang bbilis dito. putang ina. kundi mo pa paypayan di aandar ng mabilis ._.

Buying Disconnected Globe WiMAX
same as me…I experienced a good connection last 4months but these few weeks past my connection was very slow…when i call them they just tell me that there system was down..may oras na wlang signal ang wimax ko.akala ko sira na to’pero hindi pala.yun globe ang mga sira magaling mang-uto ng tao..kaya limit na ang gamit ko ngayon kasi may araw na wlang signal talaga..nakakainis sila
