Haven't been active in PEX fort some time .. I drifted away during one of their many outages.

Disagree completely with the paid subscription model. A great, current-day example is the meet and dating site Plentyoffish.com which is totally free and kicking the virtual ass of all the for-pay competitors.

POF has about 13 million page views per day and primarily runs on one web server machine, one database machine and one email/ancillary machine. It's not the number of servers that count, it's the way the servers are being managed and the way the message load is being managed. (oh, of course, POF operates on .NET ASP, IIS, Exchange Server and SQL Server, so maybe the for-free software isn't always the answer.

Methinks, perhaps, some real talent is needed in PEX's IT department.

They can save on server resources by strictly moderating the Fanatic Threads, which don't give any info at all, just how they love their idols. Ban threads that has anything to do with Kapamilya-Kapuso Wars... hehehe...And make the Chat thread for premium members only.
