During our line tour of LG Display at the Paju LCD Factory, an LG liaison reveals that they’re the ones that provide Apple with the multi-touch screen for the upcoming iPad.
In this video demo of LG’s multi-touch display screen using a technology called IPS (In-Plane Switching). LG has been supplying this type of display for the Apple iMac so it’s not a surprise they’re doing the same for the iPad.
When pressed how many display panels they were making for Apple’s iPad, an LG General Manager would not disclose but says its a lot. They also would not comment if they’re going to do their own tablet with Android OS in it.
There were several other display types shown to us in the gallery, including this 10.1-inch free-form display which could be used for the car’s dash panel.

Some LED displays can be framed into the wall making it a digital painting of sorts.

LG is also developing their own A4-size (11.5″ EPD) color flexible e-paper. The panel is just 0.3mm thin.

The flexible display looks cool and LG is hoping to perfect them and get them out by 2011.

im loving the ipad personally. what do you think of it now? was it upto your standards?
