Hi! I’m working in a company providing blu ray solutions among other things for content providers, film studios, tv networks, etc. If you know of any content provider, etc. who wants to accelerate having interactive and web-enabled movies in blu ray discs, let me know. Thanks!!!

The name HD-DVD i think sounds kinda old, it’s like putting a prefix to DVD, so next will be ED-DVD for “Extreme Definition DVD” even worst SD-DVD “Supreme Definition DVD”, so i guess it’s just cooler to use Blu-Ray…

Doh. FYI the Xbox 360 runs normal DVD/DVD9 discs. Throw away your external HD DVD player though…or sell it to someone living under a rock

As for “Yey for Bluray”, ill wait for prices to drop before singing Sony’s praises to high heavens.

I have a sense that HD-DVD will be a de-facto standard back there in the philippines like what happened to the VCD, failed at the US, flourished (thanks to the low quality pirates) in asia.

In the meantime, i can buy with confidence a PS3 (soon, sana….)

Yes! FINALLY! The war is over.

Okay, now they can start importing Blu-Ray, I’m all for Blu-Ray ever since anyway, but I don’t want to spend money until it is clear which tech will be widely accepted.

Now it is finally clear. BLU-RAY IT IS!!

And lol, Abe, I am curious, have any info of any tech wars that ended? Except for VHS and Betamax ofcourse, that case is very different (VHS suing Betamax…)

It seems this is the first tech war where someone surrendered.

Finally it’s settled. Now we just have to wait what will Microsoft do with the XBOX 360? Switch over to Blu-Ray? Will it mean that discs for that console can also be played on the PS3?
