i have already disected eee pc, its a nice laptop available in the market.I have a couple of eee pc at home if any pinoys want to have the unit immidiately, i can help.Its really affordable computer.

Looking forward to your review. They say they’re going to come up with a more polished version in a few months (less energy usage, more memory and some “bug fixes”) so I’m holding off buying one til then. I also wonder how this compares to the Everex cloudbook?

@ Lyle, RN - there is a “right click” even though there you only see one button. it actually has two buttons underneath.

@abe oh cool. Wala pa palang 8Gb sa distro nila. I find that weird kasi may I think one shop in Virramall sold an 8Gb version a few weeks ago for almost 30K. Maybe out of stock hehe.

Whats nice about the Asus EEE is that you don’t need to be a Linux expert or have used linux before because the Linux OS in it is just plain easy to use.

4Gb is being sold at PC Corner for 17-18K last year.

@brianb - mas mataas tariff saten. as in as in way higher and patong-patong pa.

@maruel - there are instructions online on ho to switch to XP. Will do that on one of my Eee PC. You need to own your own XP license though.

@ade - haha! E3PC is the new iPod nga! That’s what the guys at the shop where I bought it tells me — everyone will have their own Eee PC one days since they cost as much as a mobile phone lang.

@andre - know a lot of travel bloggers using the Eee PC as primary laptop.

@jaypee - got the a white and a black 4GB model.

@vance - they sent me the white 4GB model. The 8G is not yet available daw.

I actually got a chance to tinker with one. A friend asked me to update the skype so she could use the video calls.

Anyway, I think it’s a good buy at $299. For the Php18,000 local price, I think it’s a bit steep.

The size and design is OK but I find the screen too small. I also dislike the fact that I can’t do a right-click on it since there is nothing to click in the first place. It only has a touchpad unlike typical laptops. I don’t know if it can support USB mouse.

Overall, it’s a nice laptop for web browsing and doing some light office applications. I think it’s an ideal “first laptop” for students.

I’m a bit tempted to get one because I can get it for only $299. However, it would be impractical for me coz I don’t really have the need for it. I don’t travel that much and I feel that it’s too small for me. Btw, what model did you get? Is it 2G or 4G?
