Since I first reviewed the X-Mini last year, I’ve been a huge fan of these capsule speakers so I bought the X-Mini Max just to see if it’s worth what it claims to be.
The twin speakers are attached to each other via magnetic plates embedded in the base. They came with a meter-long micro-USB cable so you can position them fairly far apart from each other to get better sound effect.
It didn’t fail my expectations. Each capsule is rated at 1.7 watts and total output of both is just under 3.5 watts. Same great audio quality as the X-Mini, plus twice the volume.
One thing that’s changed though was that the new cables are non-retractable (for the X-Mini). Apparently the old retractable one was prone to get busted.

I suggest waiting for the X-mini II. It will be coming out here in SG this March.

Improvements include built-in audio cable, longer battery life and capability to daisy-chain x-minis.
Already requested for the X-MIni II. Even emailed the PR firm in Singapore asking for early review units.

I prefer the X-Mini max over the X-mini 2 since it is stereo sound. I bought the Max on http://www.100milligrams.com and loved it.
