The price is unreasonable considering DLink isn’t a reliable wireless router…yes I have one and countless of times I want to axe it infront of its makers. Yes, I’m going to dump it real soon. I hope DLink closes its plants.

What a relief to discover a page that may be ultimately really worth reading! I’ve been seeking all-around about this topic but men and women just put rubbish posts, or brief meaningless posts. I have seen a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the same as reading a good post. Great job!

This product is very expensive, very. You need to purchase a 3g modem for this, according to the docs.
If this had a built in modem, I’d consider it OK. But it doesn’t come with one built in.

http://www.dovado.com- i checked this one out…Do you still need a laptop just to power this one? Is the setup for this is laptop + usb dovado modem= shared internet? Is it better than Nokia wifi phone + joiku spot program= standalone shared internet?

wouldnt it be cheaper if you just buy a 2nd hand nokia series 60 phone with wifi(N95, e51,etc.) and use joiku spot program to act as a wifi router. This setup is better in cars and vans while in a road trip.

8,000+ price for a 3G router is just too much for personal use but if you want to start a 3G routing business then it would be a good investment.

if it was a sim-slot router why not, but you need to connect a pcmcia 3g card… no way for the price

i don’t think this is an alternative at all to the smart one.

Abe, doesn’t this just work with PCMCIA cards? Meaning the USB variety wont work?
