Portable OpenOffice.org is a full-featured office suite that’s compatible with Microsoft Office, Word Perfect, Lotus and other office applications (i.e. word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, drawing package and database). It’s easy-to-use and feature-rich, performing nearly all of the functions you’d expect in an office suite, but at no cost.
You can have it in your thumb drive to bring along anywhere – no additional or special hardware requirements, no other software requisites — you carry everything with you.
The download is about 75MB and the unzipped/installed files total to about 144MB so you need at least one of those 256MB USB drives with you.
You must give “SSuite Office – The Fifth Element” a try!. It has more than 30 very useful applications and is only 37.75 MB in size. It is completely free for download.
It also does’nt need to run on Java or .NET.
If this is to big for you, there is also smaller versions available, including a portable version.
