News of BlogExplosion going up for a sale this week has been reported at HelpMeBlog. I guess some of you are already familiar with it or may have even used it in the past. BlogExplosion was launched back in 2004 and is one of the the leading blog traffic exchange to date. There’s no clear reason why the original owners are selling though.
The site currently earns roughly $4,000 a month so if you factor the usual 12 to 24 months multiplier, the site could fetch somewhere between $48,000 to $96,000 for the sale.
Here’s what’s including in the sale:
BlogExplosion will be selling all our of blogging assets which include:
– Our main site BlogExplosion.com
– Our blog helpmeblog.com
– Our blog counter site LiveBlogStats.com
– Our image hosting site BlogPhotoHut.com
– Our blog hosting service BlogCharm.com with 1300 members
– Our blog radio station BE Radio
There are 70 other blog related domains to go with it as well.
Some quick facts about BlogExplosion:
– BE is approaching 50,000 members
– We have served 22 million visits via surfing blogs and millions of others across the site
– BE signs up on average 100-150 new members per day
– BlogExplosion has over 1 million listings in Google
– We are ranked #4714 on Alexa and trending in the right direction
I posted about it here
BE is gone now. Waah!
The sale was public knowledge on BE – posted on HelpMeBlog, in the members homepage, discussed in the shoutbox, and via member email. So…there shouldn’t be a single member in the dark on this one.
They won’t tell their member base if they they’re planning on selling it as it could disrupt their growth and market viability.
They’re probably selling it because of BlogMad. It kicks ass kasi…unfortunately, it also kicked BE’s ass.
im here surfing through blogmad and I REALLY love it! a lot better than BE, i think…
Really? How come I never got an e-mail from them about this news? I wonder what effects would it have on an ordinary blog explosion user like me.
