Sphere, new blogsearch in town

blog searchSphere officially came out to public last May 1st but since I was still out on vacation then, I wasn’t able to blog about it right away and completely forgotten about it until Jayvee asked me last night.

You may see it as some sort of Technorati clone with a new twist. While Technorati measures blogs with authority by the number of incoming links to it, Sphere give you three options — links in, links out and meta data within the vicinity of the blog (that is, posting frequency and post lenght among others).

The start-up recently got a $3.75 Million in venture capital so they do have some funds to play around and make this thing better. Does it have the potential to become a primary blog search destination — yeah, I think so. Will Sphere pull me out of using Technorati? I don’t think so, yet (maybe IceRocket or Feedster).

You be the judge — go check out Sphere and submit your blog.
