Epixtar Philippines closes, sheds 650 agents

In an SMS correspondence with a former Epixtar employee, it was revealed that the BPO company has closed its offices in Eastwood City, Libis last January 16 leaving employees confused and anxious for answers.

epixtarAllegedly, Epixtar suddenly closed its operations in the Philippines without properly informing and arranging severance packages of hundreds of its employees.

My source, who wants to remain anonymous, also added that they were not given any separation pay and found out that their SSS and PAG-IBIG contributions were deducted from their salary but were not remitted to the proper agencies. Salary loan amortization to Union Bank were not remitted since the November 20, 2008 pay-out.

It would seem that a new company, Amberbase Solutions, took over the operations along with more or less the 650+ employees (everything is the same, except the name of the company). Only about 10 people were not offered a new contract and escorted out of the building on the same day Amberbase took over.

No email or memo were sent out so everyone is confused and in the dark what really transpired, according to a source who wants to remain anonymous (and is now employed by Amberbase).

I did a little digging and found the domain amberbase.com was registered last November 19, 2008 and points to SkyINet, a local hosting provider. The website is still under construction as well so it checks out that Amberbase Solutions is a very new company. The WHOIS information is also private so we can’t shoot a quick email to verify this.

Epixtar filed a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection last October 7, 2005.

Any news about the company? Had there been any improvement since the change in name? Are the upper management still the same people?

It absolutely confuses me when someone says they are fighting with their adjuster for $175,000, and more, on their homeowner’s claim, yet they don’t want to spend the amount of money from my website to actually see how I have handled the same type of situation, successfully. I say this not to brag, but I have the knowledge and know how that you NEED to get what you DESERVE to be paid on your claim. If that means spending $39.00 on my site to help you have the knowledge to win an additional $100,000, doesn’t it make good sense to buy it now?

well..since most of the bosses are still working there, you’ll still expect the same rotten system as before.. these people doesn’t deserve to be treated with respect since they don’t know how to respect their employees!! KARMA will eFn get them!!!

    @ immy

actually a lot has changed. Most directors/upper management are new. I’ve never worked for Epixtar so I wouldn’t know where u guys are coming from but so far based on my exp. everything seems ok. I check my SSS contribution every month online and it seems to be updated. salary and commission are given on time. Im just hoping now that the 13th month pay would be given earlier =)

what about Pong and Kaye Rodenas? I heard that they’e still connected with Amberbase..Beware of them..just a friendly advise though, try to open your eyes.. You might not realize that they are only using you out of their own expense.

It is sad to know that some company did not pay back the dedication of the employers. Knowingly they are paying for their Pag-ibig funds and SSS. Even they are now transferred and relocated to the other company, still they should have emailed or send memos to the employees. And for those who are seeking for a job, try to be familiarize with the company and their background.

  9. exsupe says:

Dyan pa rin si Pong? Galing naman. Ano kaya ang hinahawakan niyang program ngayon na scam na naman? Malapit na kayong mabuko. You are being investigated by someone in the states na may talk show everyday at malakas yun sa ftc… isasara kayo ng di oras. To all employees, bantayan ninyo ang inyong mga contributions at taxes at backpay. Magaling manggulang ang lanie reyes na yan.

May mga tinanggal ba na mga manager sa Amberbase Libis o pinagresign lang talaga?

  11. Glen says:

i have omitted amber-base managers in the valley or just resigning? In my own opinion just try to be familiarize with the company and their background for those who are seeking for a job. thanks..

what does this mean? how does this affect the outsourcing industry of the country? I hope would not affect the wages of people work because their family affected.
