YugaTech Contest: Show me your PC, win 1TB!

This is the 1st of a series of 4 contests for the YugaTech-Western Digital giveaways. And as the title says, all you need to do to join is “show me your PC“.

Take a photo of your laptop, desktop or your workstation and share it with us by uploading it online. See below for complete mechanics:

1) Take a photo of your workstation — it could be a laptop, a nettop or a desktop PC.

2) Use this image as the wallpaper of your station when you take the photo (download here). This will allow us to know that the photo is new and/or original.

3) Upload your photo to any photo sharing site (Flickr, Picasa, Twitpic, etc.) or post in your blog or website. The photo must be publicly accessible — not set in private, locked or anything that requires a password or login.

4) Leave a comment in this blog post with the URL to your photo, gallery or blog entry. Don’t forget to go to the WD Philippines Facebook Page and Add/Like them.

So what are we looking for?

The photo should convey the idea “why you need an extra terabyte hard drive” without actually saying/writing it. We’ll be in the look out for the weirdest or cutest or funniest or most creative or most kick-ass workstation. It’s up to you how you shoot the photo.

What we’re giving away this week?

How’s a 1 Terabyte Western Digital Caviar Black SATA 3 (6 Gb/s) sound?

Contest starts today until midnight of August 17, 2010. You have 1 week to submit your entries. We’ll announce the winner on or before Friday that week so we can run the next contest the Monday after.

Note: You can send as many entries as you want, just make sure you leave a comment with the link for each entry you submit. YugaTech and WD Philippines will jointly pick the winner for the week.

You can help spread news of this contest by sharing this on your Facebook wall or post this on your Twitter:

    Hi Guys,
I’ll announce the TOP THREE here on Friday. My apologies for the delay. It’s not easy to weed thru 400+ entries and finally decide on a winner.
Thank you for your patience. More power to Yuga and his fans.
    Nino, WD ”

    CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

Kayo naman, konting pasensya lang.. Keep your cool guys!

But, I’ll make a wild guess. Nino Carandang uses Seagate, not Western Digital! Boooooo!!!

Watch out when your regional office reads your comment dude.. :)

  3. [...] September 4th, 2010 We got two sets of winners today — one from our Western Digital Contest and the other one from the Real Leaf Word Master [...]

  4. Mark Verano says:

@eripples & Cliff Rosario – Thanks for the appreciation guys… I am very grateful.

Well, everybody who joined deserves a prize for the effort of capturing their most prized PC’s(and for their patience, that is.)

I do believe Nino Avenido’s entry won fair and square. Maybe the judges may have picked his as the “Most Kick-ass” and mine as probably “Weirdest” or “Funniest”. Either way, everything goes as far as creativity is concerned. Congrats man!

Let’s just all give credit to the presenter and his sponsor for giving us the opportunity and their generosity. Truly, it’s hard to get free stuff these days!

And advance congrats to the 3rd prize winner!

    Thanks!

  5. Major Major says:

I think it will take another 15 days for the 3rd place…… it’s really hard to weed through 426 entries. Try doing for yourself.

this will be the 1st in a series of 4 contests so ! join away! cant wait for the next.

  7. Nino Carandang says:

As for the third prize: we decided to give it to:

    http://super-computers-world.blogspot.com/2010/08/super-computers_17.html

The person doesn’t have a name though.

To everyone, again my apologies. I should have set your expectations right as E-Ripples mentioned. To set the record straight, there’s just two of us in Manila. It’s a learning experience for us in the team also.

With regards of the prizes, we aren’t backing out of our commitment with Yuga. We actually sent the prizes ahead of time to him, all four hard drives.

Here’s the tier list of what the finalist won:

    1st prize – the Caviar Black 1TB
2nd prize – WD Backpack plus some minor prizes inside
    3rd prize – WD Backpack

    Nino

  8. Jamby says:

If prizes are already sent ahead of time…and you’re saying that there’s only two of you here in manila (to decide on this) then i suggest to let the judging be done by Yuga himself. I believe if Yuga was given the right to judge the contest, winners have been announced as early as Aug 18.

Nonetheless, it’s not only the three contestants who’ve won, WD won also..in terms of publicity….good or bad.

  9. Participant says:

My eyes was opened not to buy WD. Their aftersales could be the same as how they handle their promo. Announcing the winers with sarcasm really annoyed me.

I agree Mark V’s entry should have won the first slot also.

It is suppose to be a “WORKSTATION”! as the mechanic says. The 1st place winner is definitely not a workstation….

  10. Kenneth says:

    Congrats to the winners.

Thank you again for WD for sponsoring the contest.

Bakit ba laging hindi nasusunod ang mga mechanics? Workstation ba? May workstation bang madaming PC? I dont think so. Whatever.

Bakit ba laging hindi nasusunod ang mga mechanics? Workstation ba? May workstation bang madaming PC? I dont think so. Whatever.

I think that madaming pc is supposed to be madaming monitors. And it is just so hard to imagine a workstation having that “alot” of monitors, and used in daily. And to Mark V’s, yes it fits the theme perfectly, and very good creativity, but its not a workstation either. I’m not being bitter here or something, just pointing out points.

    Anyways, congratsie :]

  13. gawsog says:

Sakto pla ung kay Mark V, dapat siya nanalo first. my fault. ;]

  14. fuchi says:

    @Sanctuarian06, gawsog and Participant…
    I agree and 2nd the motion…hehe

Let’s wish na sana manalo tayo on the next series of contests(for following the mechanics)…;P

Well, let’s just congratulate the winners and do our best the next time…

  15. A lot of thanks for your entire work on this web page.

  16. Great article and I had thought of this before
