How much of the Philippines have you seen, lived on or visited? Check out Eugene’s Lakbayan scorecard. I got a C+ (C plus). :D
My Lakbayan grade is C+!
How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!
Created by Eugene Villar.
Was able to cover most of southern Luzon because back in college some friends and I went on a road trip from Cubao to Ormoc, Letye (bus went on the barge at Matnog to reach Samar), took a SuperCat to Cebu then flew to Iloilo. The north-western part Luzon was covered thru several roads trips to Vigan/Pagudpod. Man, the first one was 13 hours long. Basically, only Palawan and Masbate are the only major islands I haven’t been to.
I guess I need to travel deep down south more. Palawan is next on the list, then Sagada. Friends and relatives have been asking me to visit them in CDO, Cotabato and Zamboanga decades ago but I was afraid to venture there then (bombings and all).
Hopefully, by next year, I’d get a better grade. I’m aiming for a B+!
Updated: Grading system was revised. I’m now at C+. ;)

waaa C- din ako.. ahehehe im on my 29th province.
baket anf corregidor pala naka mark as Cavite? its part of Bataan already.
You should try CDO to Davao via Bukidnon. The view and cool mountain breeze at BUDA (Bukidnon-Davao) road is just spectacular!
Sumama ka kay CHavit nung kampanya ‘no? Ba’t ka napadpad once sa Naga?
Sumama ako ke Kiko Pangilinan during his northern Luzon campaign. Went to Naga ‘coz have college classmates and friends there.
Hey, Abe. I updated the grading system since I apparently set the bar a little too high, based on feedback. You’re now a C+! Also, there’s a link there to let you update your map data… perfect for keeping track of your travels. :-)

I got a C- hahaha! But really, I did my travelling when I was really really young, so young that I can’t even remember all of the names of the provinces I went to. Yeah, I remembered the pinya plantation on CDO. I think I was 10 back then.

C-. Not bad, considering I’m not much of a traveler. It helps when your mom and dad live in Ilocos and in Samar *and* you don’t fly to get there. Haha.
Im a C too, pending additions from my pre-1989 travels. haha

I’m an embarassment. In terms of time spent (though Eugene doesn’t measure it), I’ve spent more time traveling abroad than in the Philippines!
I’ll be heading over there in a few muniutes … I’ve only lived in the Philippines 7 months now so my score won’t be high … but aside from a commercial flight to Cebu all the traveling I’ve done has been with me behind the wheel .. and my car still has all 4 corners …. that should count for something, diba ;-)
The buzz this effort of Eugene is getting proves what I have been saying all along … people love maps… On line maps that they can manipulate and put to personal use.
I went, D-, ok teacher, I’ll study harder LoL
Now if we only had real road maps on line …. or on a GPS … I went to look at an N-95 the other day … can’t get much more high end than that … maps of Cebu City, Ayala Alabang, Makati CBD and a tiny section of Quezon City … rest of the country? Walang. Hello? Even a Kano can find Makati Ave … it’s places like the countryside in Pangasinan or Bataan I might need a little help.
It amazes me how Filipinos will go ahead and by these things instead of saving the money and sending a message to Nokia and other disrespectful marketers that if you want people’s pesos you have to provide a complete product.
But thanks for a useful gimick.

hello!
i hope you can visit my birthplace (CDO) and hometown (cotabato). you’ll have loads of fun (white-water rafting, pinoy tubing, canopy walk, and bridge jumping!). i would also recommend that you go to bukidnon and eat steak at the del monte plantation. =) there’s more to mindanao than what we see on tv. just last march, i’ve backpacked across some parts of mindanao, and all i can is “WOW” =)
