Most of us have owned a number of handsets in the past but can you still remember all of them? I tried recalling my mobile phone history, starting from the turn of the century when Nokia was the king, all the way to the present glory of Android and iOS smartphones. Here’s what I came up with:

The list below are the mobile phones I owned, the year I owned them, and how they ended up after owning them. Some were passed down to me, bought for me and acquired by my own means.
- Nokia 3310 (2000) – dad smashed it to bits (if I remembered correctly he threw it on the floor three times before it was completely obliterated)
- Nokia 8250 (2000) – stolen
- Nokia 2100 (2003) – passed down
- Sony Ericsson T230 (2003) – passed down
- Nokia 3650 (2003) – swapped
- Nokia 6610i (2004) – sold
- Nokia 6230i (2005) – passed down
- Nokia 5310 (2007) – passed down
- Nokia E51 (2007) – passed down
- Nokia 5800 (2008) – sold
- Samsung M140 (2008) – passed down
- Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 Ferrari Edition (2009) – broke down
- Samsung GT-E1080F (2010) – passed down
- BlackBerry Curve 9300 (2011) – passed down
- LG Optimus L3 (2012) – sold
- iPhone 4S (2012) – passed down
- HTC One X (2012) – stolen
- BlackBerry Torch 9860 (Present)
How about you guys? What is your smartphone history? Take a trip down memory lane and list them down the comments section below. Kudos to the person who has the oldest mobile phone.

Siemens S40- my very first mobile phone. it was way back 2001 or 2002 when I was in grade 5. it was handed down to me by my dad as a birthday gift.
Nokia 3210- i got it the same year as my old one.
Nokia 3315- i got so bored with my 3210 so i asked mom to replace it with this because i want that game Space Impact. haha!
Bird S288- this was my phone when i was in my 1st year HS, 2004. i got it from my own savings. a very cute phone. :)
Nokia 6260- from mom. this was the product of my ‘pagtatampo’ from her when i was in 2nd year HS. 2nd hand, sold to her by her officemate.
Nokia 6230- we had hard times back then and we really needed money. my youngest sister was confined because of dengue so my old one has been sent to a pawnshop. i used this for a while until i get my old one back.
Nokia 5310 XpressMusic- i got bored with my old one so my dad gift me this on my birthday. this was my phone when i was in my 1st year of college ECE.
Nokia X3 XpressMusic- another birthday gift from dad. acquired this before i start 3rd year.
Samsung Star Wifi- mom handed this down to me before i start 4th year. she got tired of touchscreen phones and hated it since then, haha!
iPhone 4- birthday gift from dad. it was my phone before i start 5th year, i was so excited. i promised myself that i will settle with it until i get a job. but it was stolen after 2mos. of use. :(
BlackBerry Bold 9780- this is the phone i’m currently using. i got it on my birthday last march 2012 from my own savings. although very useful for my acads, i’m already becoming bored with it so i’m thinking of getting an iphone 5S/6 once it will become available in our country.
