Decolgen Hanga sa Hinga Contest

Somewhere online, among the wild surf of uploaded and shared content, is a new set of videos that will…well, blow you away. Aptly called the Hanga sa Hinga videos, these outrageous takes show an almost illusionary scene of a guy blowing away objects using nothing but the nose. Yes, you read right…just the nose.

Initiated by Decolgen, a local nasal decongestant medicine brand, the Hanga sa Hinga videos have taken off and blown right into the radar with its take on the amazing and comical scenes of nose-blowing.

From simply blowing a small handheld flag, to putting out almost a hundred candles on a birthday cake, the videos have entertained and intrigued its viewers as to how each one was actually done. Is it really natural talent? Or is there some special effects or props involved? If there was, it’s still pretty hard to figure out how it was done. Which makes one watch every clip over and over again, much like how one tries to decipher the secret behind a magic trick.

As far as homemade videos go, this guy has certainly found a way to make us all watch in surprise and sometimes even break into stupid laughter. Among the favorites includes a simple clip called “Trick Ball”, where he makes a pingpong ball levitate in midair for a few seconds by blowing it with his nose.

Hanga sa Hinga has even extended to users themselves as it allows for everyone to actually create and shoot their own nose-blowing videos and upload it on the site. Of course, the use of effects, props, or even an off-cam friend is all allowed and which makes it more of good fun for people to join in and get creative with their videos.

Seeing what other people can come up with and how they do it can actually make one tune in to every upload and see what creative craziness comes up.

Not only is it interesting and rather fun to join, it also allows for the best videos to actually win sweet prizes like a Macbook Air, iPhones, iPods, and other gadgets. Uploaded videos can win as either “videos of the week” or in the grand awarding ceremony which will be held in the near future. So it’s actually worth it to go participate and start your own Hanga sa Hinga video going.

Hanga sa Hinga is also a fresh good change in online video contests that sometimes seem so boring and dried up, asking you to just look into a webcam and say a few words. This time, there’s more creativity and involvement in doing your video, whether you have it really simple or quite elaborate.

Another cool thing about the videos and the site is that viewers can also win in an online raffle just by voting everyday, or by sharing the videos with friends. But of course, making your own video will still be way more fun and promising. The prizes are bigger, and it’s an opportunity to get your own shine in the YouTube spotlight.
