hi, i' m lui and my blogs' titles begin with the word lakbayera, as in lakbayera trips and lakbayera veggie-eats. i'm a newbie in the blogosphere and still learning to catch up with the techies, if you may allow a 50-something lady to use the jargon. :)

now, why have i dared to introduce myself to you? it all started when i read a post about malu fernandez in http://houseonahill.net/living-in-the-philippines/malu-fernandez-again/ and clicked the link leading me to the column in manila standard. i felt i had to leave a comment (still awaiting moderation) to the said post and so i wrote:

"what got me was this: '...blogging... is a slacker job or a medium and pastime for lonely people to connect.' which triggers me to start a research on bloggers by reading their "about me" sections as an initial step to know if malu f's statement has any basis. (i am more sociologically inclined so i would reserve the loneliness research to psychologists.) subjects will be the top pinoy and filipino-descent bloggers as listed in Technorati’s Philippine Top 100 Blogs which i read in yugatech's blog."

i googled for researches done about filipino bloggers and found the following posts/blogs:

are there more you know of that i have not found yet?

the findings were limited to hits, demographics (gender, location) blog category, ranking, url/software used, update frequency, among others. nowhere did i find data about what the bloggers "do for a living or are busy with" to validate or invalidate that "blogging... is a slacker job."

i've chosen Technorati’s Philippine Top 100 Blogs to be a reference point of my pet study. you said in your post that "This list will be updated as regularly as possible." do you now have an updated version of the list seen in http://www.yugatech.com/blog/technoratis-philippine-top-100-blogs/ which i might just have missed when i reviewed your archive? if none, what period (day, month or year) was that list published/seen in technorati?
