MS Photosynth on CSI

First, there was Twitter. This time, it’s Microsoft Photosynth. It turns out, the lab techs on CSI New York are using Photosynth to re-create a virtual 3D of a crime scene. Got a copy of the segments uploaded here.

MS Photosynth takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and then displays the photos in a reconstructed three-dimensional space, showing you how each one relates to the next.

This is from episode 18 of season 4, CSI NY. Cool, huh?! [ Digg it! ]

You can get the preview of the Photosynth installer here (6.36MB).
