Just got into Pownce, thanks to Jomar. Curiosity got the better of me and I signed up. You can check my Pownce account here, though there’s nothing much. The New York Times has a glaring review. Works like Twitter or Jaiku plus some more features but that’s it.
Anybody wants to try it?
I got six invites here. Just leave a comment with your email and I’ll throw it to the first 6. If there’s more, maybe the others who got it first can share with the rest on the comment list.
Kevin Rose has a list of bigwig names you can add as friends.
The only thing I like about Pownce over Twitter is the selective privacy — meaning, you can send messages to a select group, friends or the public. I think that’s a faster way to reach more people than say a mailing list? The file sending? Nah, don’t think so. I had a Tumblelog before but after the first post, I forgot all about it.
I think I’ll stick with email.
Not sure if Pownce will outperform a mailing list, because some people tend to log into Pownce only once a week.
Anyway, I also still have 3 invites if others would like to try Pownce.

Manuel, nah, it won’t but I am seeing a potential use for me. I don’t subscribe to emails on mailing list. I browse thru the web list.
