June Gadget Reviews Roundup

It’s July and we’re now more than halfway through the year. Take a look at our roundup of all the gadgets we’ve reviewed last month which includes the Fujifilm X100s and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

SONY DSC

Fujifilm X100s

The X100s is the successor to Fujifilm’s very popular X100. It sports the same look of its predecessor but with a totally different beast on the inside. It now has an X-Trans CMOS II sensor, EXR Processor II image processor, and an on-chip Phase Detection AF system. The X100s is definitely a leap forward and solves most of the X100’s weaknesses. However, like the X100, this bad boy doesn’t come cheap.

HYPER FRONT

Cherry Mobile Hyper

The Hyper is one of Cherry Mobile’s most affordable Android offerings with an SRP of Php4,990. It has a large 5-inch display, solid build and construction, very good 5 megapixel camera, plus dual-SIM capabilities. On the downside, it has a low resolution, small RAM, and runs an aging Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

slidebook

MSI Slidebook S20

The MSI Slidebook S20 is a good hybrid ultrabook offering that can certainly provide its user the benefits of having a tablet and a laptop in one. Although it’s a bit limiting due to the lack of a built-in pointing device, small display and cramped keyboard. On the other hand, if you’re one of those who are frequently on the go and need to work inside limited spaces then the S20’s size, ergonomics and performance will certainly serve you well.

ascendg510

Huawei Ascend G510

Huawei takes their entry-level offering a notch higher with the Ascend G510. It has a large screen, solid construction, really great build, and can deliver above average performance for an entry-level device. It’s not without limitations though, like the small ram and available storage for apps, but for the price of Php5,990, it surely makes up for that.

SONY DSC

Nokia Lumia 920

Locally, the Lumia 920 is by far the best that Windows Phone 8 and Nokia have to offer. And based on our rather short time with it, we can definitely say that it deserves to carry the flag for the Finnish company. It sports a premium build, a snappy WP8 OS, and of course, very good imaging and video recording capabilities.

sony-xperia-tablet-z

Sony Xperia Tablet Z

It’s got a great set of hardware, a very thin and sexy design, a capable OS and it’s even water-resistant to boot. The only shortcoming we can point out is the use of TFT display which we’ve already overlooked because of the full HD 1080p resolution. In terms of design and craftsmanship, Sony has a clear winner with the Xperia Tablet Z. If only they could price it competitively.

yoga pushed

Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11S

The Ideapad Yoga 11S has the makings of an outstanding laptop-tablet hybrid, and it’s one of the best buys out there minus the 1080p HD display or a backlit keyboard. It has a great form factor, unique design, vibrant touchscreen display, very comfortable keyboard, and can deliver outstanding performance.

I think that everything published made a great deal of sense.
However, what about this? what if you composed a catchier title?
I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, however what if you added
a post title that makes people desire more? I mean June Gadget Reviews
Roundup – YugaTech | Philippines, Tech News & Reviews is
a little boring. You should peek at Yahoo’s
front page and watch how they create news titles to get viewers
to click. You might add a related video or a
related picture or two to grab people interested about what you’ve written.
In my opinion, it might bring your website a little livelier.
