The stock Android Email app sees some changes, too.

As you’ve noticed, the upcoming Android L works closely with more colored panels rather than the existing OS. Indeed it is more eye-catching and inviting for the user while having a simpler and cleaner layout. Icons are also smaller and are stacked up neatly. They are also flatter and resemble tile-like shapes seen on Windows 8.

How do you like the layout so far compared to Android KitKat? Are you ready to jump in when this update officially launches or would you rather prefer KitKat’s mostly monochromatic design?

It’s almost like the current iOS design. Ano ba Android when will you have a stable UI? it’s like Android is changing every version, parang wala Ng identity and halatang derived from the two other OS’s. Android changes versions to get more sales and for people to buy and replace their old ones, not to improve and enhance performance. It’s a bad gimmick, look at Windows Phone, its update is regular and it is future-proof, makes sure it lives up to what users need.

White/gray background for keyboard? Am I right to say that white(light) colors consume more battery than black (dark) colors.

it looks like MS nga…well I don’t know but I still prefer the black back draft…hinde masakit sa mata and medyo tipid ata sa bat yun…sa idea ko lang ha.

Also it looks like the gmail built in email app…which I somehwhat hate.

Love it or hate it, flat, minimalist UIs are here to stay. After Win8’s Metro and the current web design trend, it’s been seeping into other areas as well.

Their web-app for note taking, keep.google.com has actually followed the design language for quite a while and no one has noticed its connection to Material Design. A proof that only a few people use Google Keep.

Glad to see that in ‘People’, there are more options what to do with a certain contact other than to call and send a message. And the dialer is not integrated to ‘people’.
