Blocking blog related ads from AdSense

Shaolin Tiger has a post here on Maximise Click Through Rate (CTR) with Google Adsense for Blogs. He has a good number of domains to blog in your AdSense to take care of low paying ads from showing in you blog.

This allows you to maximize CTR of your site and get you higher returns for fewer clicks. You don’t want accidental surfers to surf away from your blog for just $0.01.

I have quite a number of filters included in my AdSense account and I added some more from Shaolin Tiger’s list. A day later, some of my shorter posts about blogging did not show any ads at all. I guess I must have blocked all relevant ads to that page already.

I would recommend using the Competitive Ad Filter but be careful on whcih ones you block as you might end up not showing any AdSense ads at all.

this might constitude as fraud, if I were an advertiser I wouldnt want my ads blocked just because they are in a low paying category. The competitive ad filter is supposed to be used to block competitors from having theirs ads show up on site.
