Google Search app for iOS gets improved voice search

Listen to article

Google’s Search app for iOS gets a big update with the addition of a faster and significantly improved voice recognition.

“Use Google before asking dumb questions,” that was the saying. And that involves pulling up a browser then typing in your question on Google. Now with the improved Google Search app for iOS, you can simply tell Google what you’re searching for and she’ll be more than glad to provide you with answers.

According to Google, the enhanced voice recognition is fast and accurate. How fast? When you ask a question the app quickly transcribes what you’re saying in real-time. How accurate? Unlike with Siri where you have to speak in perfect American accent, the Google Search app can understand what you’re saying even if you have a different accent. (E.g. “Wat is da weder in Manila?”) You can even get answers to simple questions such as “Who is Mark Zuckerberg?” or “Is it going to rain tomorrow?” Check out the video below to see the app in action:

If you want to give it a try you can download the Google Search app from the App Store.
