2015 is ending in a few and we took the liberty of the remaining hours to share with you the top stories on the site. It’s really interesting to see what people read on the site more. With further ado, here the 10 most read YugaTech stories of 2015.

Starting the list of our top 10 stories for 2015 is another top 10 list, but for smartphones under Php 10k. Perhaps people are keen on acquiring a new smartphone for the second half of the year. As we’ve all known, a lot of good performing devices came out this year and we’re looking forward for more competitive local smartphone market.

9. Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 officially launched in PH (61k pageviews)

Despite the ever emerging trend with local brands and some Chinese manufacturers, Samsung never lost its popularity, especially when they launched the their metal-clad and AMOLED-touting Android smartphones — the A series. Coming in multiple screen sizes, they are not cheap at all when it was released last January starting at Php 16,990.

8. This excitement over Telstra might end up as a huge disappointment (64k pageviews)

Unlike the smartphone game, the local market for telcos has never been really competitive. We are pretty much confined between Globe and PLDT. Although sometime this year, a new name emerged — Telstra. The promising venture of the Australian company in partnership with San Miguel has brought a tremendous hype that even got the attention of national news. Also, since the hype of Telstra, we’ve seen local ISPs bumping up their speeds and lowering prices. Could this be it? We are yet to know if Telstra is definitely coming by 2016. For now, we just have to wait and see what are their true plans for the Philippines next year.

7. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML vs. ZE551ML (68k pageviews)

If there is any smartphone that has captured our attention, we can say it’s the Zenfone from Asus. And with the second generation Zenfone, more people have been interested with the Android smartphone from the Taiwanese company. The most popular on the site among the line-up is the flagship ZE551ML that features 4GB of RAM. Asus has a pretty confusing name game here and that’s why this comparison with the same 5.5-inch model but with different internals probably cleared the baffle.

6. Alcatel Flash Plus Review (75k pageviews)

Aside from the Zenfone, another big name in bang-for-the-buck segment has reached the top. The Alcatel Flash Plus is the second most read reviews on the site. With its 5.5-inch HD display, good octa-core processor, and 2GB RAM for just Php 6,490, it’s definitely a steal among the sea of Android budget smartphones. Alcatel also released another Flash smartphone dubbed as the Flash 2 and it’s pretty solid as well. You may read our review about it here.

5. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML Review (80k pageviews)

As its comparison already ranked 7th, the review of the Asus Zenfore 2 ZE551ML placed 5th among all our 2015 articles and is the most viewed review we have for the year. We don’t see why not with its beastly Intel chipset and 4GB of RAM, which is a first on a smartphone. It may not be the most affordable around with its current pricing of Php 14,995, but it’s definitely cheaper compared to the offering of Samsung and other international manufacturers. It also got a storage upgrade with its Deluxe version and it didn’t stop there, Asus pushed the storage to a whopping 256GB with the Deluxe Special Edition.

Aside from smartphones, this story about a troubling scam in online selling has made it to the top. It’s about the use of counterfeit deposit slips used as proof of payment to those who conduct business through online portals which caused an alarm among netrepreneurs. A lot of our readers are from the BPO industry and their interest in their field of work shows with this list of top earning BPO companies. During the end of first-half of 2015, our Editor-in-Chief listed six of the best Android smartphones you can have for just under 10 thousand bucks. Included in the list are our most read review — Alcatel Flash Plus and the cheaper Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML variant. And the top story for the year is this. We encourage everyone to read it again to act as a refresher because it still applies for the upcoming year.
