Lead – QA Automation

Responsibilities:
The Software Test Lead leads a small team of software test engineers in creating the deliverables of the test cycle, creates schedules by estimating workload, ensures that the team meets its deadlines, and thoroughly tests software. The Software Test Lead works with the other teams in the development process and reports test results to the Software Test Manager and Program Manager.

* Writes and manages detailed test deliverable documents for each project phase
* Writes and assists in the writing of detailed defect (bug) reports
* Manages a group of 1 or more testers
* Creates objectives for each employee and manages employees by these objectives (MBO)
* Communicates test status and test milestones amongst other teams
* Communicates tasks and priorities to the test team
* Reviews PM functional requirements documents to help detect defects at design time
* Signs off on all relevant documents (FRDs etc)
* Screens and interviews candidates for staffing a test team
* Prioritizes, schedules, and plans test tasks among the testing team
* Supports and motivates staff to work towards company goals
* Effectively communicates with the Software Test Manager through meetings, status reports and email
* Effectively runs meetings by following guidelines, reporting outcomes, assigning action items, and providing meeting minutes
* Writes detailed MBO documents for direct reports
* Assists in improving the general test process
* Communicates and coordinates with branch office staff (Moscow)
* Attends bug review meetings to discuss and provides test related input on the status of bugs
* Ensures that all products are fully tested and meet defined test completion criteria before release and handoff to production support

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
* At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
* Preferably Supervisor / 5 Yrs & Up Experienced Employees specializing in IT/Computer – Software or equivalent.
* Knowledge of the product development cycle
* Knowledge of test methodologies and processes
* Knowledge of test case design and test planning
* Strong communication (written and verbal) in English
* Great problem solving skills
* Management experience (of 2 or more subordinates)
* International software test experience
* Accurate schedule estimation skills
* 2 Years experience working as a software test engineer
* Working through 2 or more successful product cycles as a Software Test Engineer
* Effective communication with peers
* Useful but not required skills (optional)
* Web development skills (HTML)
* Database/SQL skills
* Computer programming skills
