Senators Ruben Gallego and Jim Justice have introduced the Keep Call Centers in America Act of 2025, a bill designed to curb the offshoring of call center jobs and safeguard U.S. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, call centers employ around 3 million Americans, yet projections show a potential loss of 150,000 jobs by 2033 due to outsourcing and automation. The measure also mandates transparency, with call workers disclosing if AI or offshore centers handle inquiries. Turns out the credit crisis and the recession in the United States had some unwittingly beneficial effect in the BPO and call center industry in the Philippines. A friend, who works in one of the top call centers in the Philippines, revealed they've been doing rapid expansion and is opening up at least 5 more locations around the country from this year to next year. These include Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Forza Horizon 5 with ray tracing enabled. At present, Kalibrr is focused on getting users call center jobs in Metro Manila but will soon cater to companies in other industries, and expand to other provinces in the Philippines and abroad.
