Microsoft has a new logo, after 25 years

Listen to article

We just can’t ignore the news that Microsoft has changed their corporate logo. The announcement was made yesterday and the new logo represents a fresh new image for the Redmond company.

The photo below shows the new logo (on top) and the old logo (bottom part).

The new logo is more colorful and resembles closely the look of Windows and the Metro UI. The part where it took us by surprise was the fact that Microsoft has not changed their logo in the last 25 years.

You folks like the new Microsoft logo?

It reminds me of AVG Anti-Virus and Photoblog.com’s logos. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m99u8z5AoC1qa2wo1o1_400.png

As per graphic knowledge concern : Either previous was fine or if they wanted to change then they should have given new styles or such related things. Coz this present logo is like Four Square cigarette copy. I do not like.

I like the new one. Clean. Minimalist. I’m not really a fan of italics.

I thought that the top logo was the old one. I don’t like it.

In my opinion walang wow factor I don’t like the font, the mark feels too common. Though I say the color combination was ok.

I still like the old one, simple yet very appealing. Specially the letters “OS”

For those who are saying that this is a new logo, you got it wrong! The “new” logo is actually an old logo used by Microsoft for the commercial of Windows 95!

Here’s a video showing my proof:

not saying they plagiarized. That’s why it has a question mark :)

Yes old school rocks.
And, MS has the impression of being high tech, with the feel of 3d logo, this one is just flat.

Maybe clean is the new black?!

Google Chrome copied the 4 colors of Microsoft Windows, and made a new design out of it..

You call slapping an OS with a new UI innovation? Wow! Talk about shallow.

They changed their logo to look like Metro UI in the hopes that more people would adopt it (Metro UI). Personally, I don’t like it. As the saying goes, why fix something that ain’t broken?
