Microsoft definitely wants its presence felt even in the competitor’s mobile ecosystem as it has announced that it now has 74 hardware partners that will pre-install its productivity apps on their Android smartphones and tablets.
According to Microsoft’s blog post, the company has reached strategic agreements with 74 hardware partners to bring Office and Microsoft services to a wide variety of Android devices. The said partners will soon offer smartphones and tablets that come pre-installed with apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive and Skype.
“By pre-installing Microsoft software and services on Android tablets and phones, our partners are able to increase the value of those devices by delivering the rich productivity experiences customers want. In addition, partners will be able to take advantage of opportunities to realize new revenue streams.”
