ASUS Republic of Gamers unveils ROG Phone

After several leaks and rumors about ASUS ROG’s challenger for the gaming smartphone category, they finally announced it at Computex 2018 in Taiwan and it is called the ROG Phone.

The ROG Phone is the brand’s answer to the already-out Razer Phone, Nubia Red Magic, and BlackShark Gaming smartphones. Its design didn’t disappoint as it really looks like a device dedicated to a pure gaming experience. The ports are located on the sides which makes it ideal for landscape gaming use, although kind of weird during normal operations.

It features two programmable AirTrigger sensors and advanced force-feedback haptics at its sides that is triggered by pressure. The phone also has a GameCool vapor-chamber cooling system with a detachable AeroActive Cooler for more temperature control.

The ROG Phone sports a 6-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time that supports HDR. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.96GHz octa-core processor with an Adreno 630 GPU.

Other features of the ROG Phone include ASUS RGB lighting and Aura Sync. The company also introduced the HyperCharge technology which provides faster, safer and cooler battery charging.

ASUS ROG also showcased new accessories specifically designed for the ROG Phone:
