ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro receives Android Oreo update

ASUS’ 2017 frontrunner, the Zenfone 4 Pro, started receiving its latest update yesterday, which includes the upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. The news came via the company’s ZenTalk forum. The automatic FOTA updates are still rolling out as of this moment, users are advised to update manually if they haven’t received the notification.

To manually update just head on over to your device’s Settings then scroll to the About section and hit on System Update. It’ll take about a week for the autopush updates to arrive so its best to just manually update if you wish to experience Android Oreo on your Zenfone 4 Pro.

For the patch notes, you can head on over to the Forum post here. The main highlight is, of course, the update to Android Oreo which will include the following features:

  • Background limits
  • Autofill
  • Smart text selection
  • Picture-in-Picture
  • Notification Dots
  • Android Instant Apps
  • A fully redesigned emoji set
  • Adaptive icons for consistent icons
  • Install unknown apps

You can check out our first impressions of the device here.
