Does your HTC Chacha have the Fn + @ bug?

Listen to article

The HTC Chacha is out and exclusive with Smart for the next month or so and we just found out one little bug with the keyboard — go see if you Fn + @ works normally.

It could be a software bug or something so we tried it with a couple of HTC Chacha we could get our hands on.

The “y” key has the “@” as alternate function, so when you press Fn + Y to key in the “@” sign, the “£” comes up instead. Could have been minor stuff but the “@” sign is frequently used considering this is the un-official FB phone.

Update: We found that Fn + P turns out to be the “@” key but that leaves out the tilde (~) again.

I`ve been having the same problem for a while now, but i found a genius way to fix it! Go to settings>applications, then enter the option called `Quick Launch`, where shortcuts are shown. There, you just touch the screen on the shortcut you want to remove, hold it for a few seconds, and that`s how you clear that shortcut. :)

Got my HTC Chacha last week, no problem with the @, too :) Maybe only the prototypes had that problem.

It has something to do with the language and keyboard settings, maybe it was set to use EU as default keyboard.

this key-mapping problem is a minor bug which HTC could easily resolve with a software patch. Chacha users should inform HTC customer service so the proper patch comes out soon. If you can’t wait, you could search for a key-mapping third-party application on the market which hopefully solves the problem.

I agree with abe regarding this one. Good thing I opted for Gallaxy Pro instead of this one.
