Feature phones may just very well be a thing of past in this smartphone/phablet –dominated world we live in. But this doesn’t mean that there’s no more room left for handsets like the new Gionee S96 which, according to its maker, holds the title as the “Slimmest Feature Phone in the world”.
As you would expect from a feature phone, the Gionee S96 doesn’t have beefy internals, although it has all the bare essentials you’d typically look for in a back-up handset.
It’s got a 2.6-inch screen with QVGA resolution, 8MB RAM and 16MB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via Micro-SD card. It’s also equipped with a 2MP camera on the back with an accompanying LED flash, and can accomodate two SIM cards at the same time.
All of these components, as well as its 700mAh battery, are encased inside a Stainless Steel chassis which only measures 7.4mm thick on its sides.
