Google and Motorola Mobility are reported to be working on a handset called the ‘X Phone‘ that can rival flagships from major smartphone players like Apple and Samsung.

Wall Street Journal reports that the X Phone will be a “marquee handset” and will sport “top-notch” features such as a high-grade camera backed up by a great photo software with image and gesture-recognition capabilities. Other features that Google and Motorola are planning to include are bendable screens and ceramic materials for durability and better aesthetic design.

The Motorola team are still working on some obstacles such as battery life, but once everything are straightened out, the team will
embark on a bigger and bolder project which they’ll call the ‘X Tablet’.

I actually thought for once, to see the great samesung fall from grace and let Motorola do the flagships. They got some sturdy handsets and it doesn’t feel like cheap plastic.

I think anybody can be a rival of apple, since specs wise apple is inferior. google should continue to work on a stronger app ecosystem too.
