So it’s finally out and official — the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been revealed and it’s powered by Samsung. The Galaxy Nexus is also the first handset to run Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Google/Samsung Galaxy Nexus specs:
4.65″ HD Super AMOLED screen @ 1280×720 (315 ppi)
TI OMAP 4460 1.2GHz dual-core processor
PowerVR SGX540
1GB RAM
16GB and 32GB internal storage
HSPA+ 21Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
NFC
5MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
1.3MP front-facing camera
1080p video recording at 30fps
1750mAh Li-Ion battery
Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
It’s not as thin as the Galaxy S2 but very close to it at 8.94mm. Most probably, the HSPA+ variant will arrive in the Philippines instead of the LTE one since our telcos aren’t ready yet to roll out the latter to the public.
The Galaxy Nexus will first be released in Europe, US and Asia this November followed by a global release in the following months. We don’t have any idea on the price though but we’ll update once we get additional details.
Hi Sir Yuga ,
any news on this
” The Galaxy Nexus will first be released in Europe, US and Asia this November “
Please, Abe/Yuga, need your advise here!
Anyone can give advise too, but please NO FANBOYISM here:
Which one is a better choice? Samsung Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation XE?
Considering the following aspects: (in order of importance)
1. User-interface – Fresh, lively, presentable, unique, user-friendly, not complex and boring
2. Future-proof: can be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich and beyond and support present & future upgrades like 4G, LTE etc…
3. Speed: fast internet browsing
4. Camera/Video: can take high quality pictures and videos in any condition
5. Hardware/software issues: minimal to zero issues
6. Wow-factor: very pleasing to the eye, demands attention and awe, unique but classy
7. Battery life
8. High-quality sounds
9. Built: solid-feel, not too light, easy-grip, toughness, more resistant to scratches and dents
10. Customization
11. Apps: which smartphone supports apps better (not in quantity but in quality)
12. Resale value:
13. Brand equity
I did not include price and other aspects coz the factors mentioned above are far more important to me (and the price difference is not that high).
Please choose between the two only, no stupid answers like “iPhone 4S!” or “Galaxy Nexus!” or “Droid Bionic!”
SALAMAT po!
I’m selling my brandnew, never been opened Samsung Galaxy S2 for 26k, for serious buyers only, text me at 091535*****
Ice Cream Sandwich makes Android look like Honeycomb on a smartphone.
GAAAAAAD! This device is so cool. Although Samsung Galaxy SII is obviously sexier. :P
The new UI of Ice Cream Sandwich is very coool.
Sana naman may 4g na tayo dito sa Philippines. Haha.
Ah finally! Welcome to the family. My N1 has been waiting for you.
You and me both buddy… My Nexus One is getting lonely..
Galaxy Nexus Or Sensation Xe/XL … Hmmmm Im Torn !
this Galaxy Nexus is looking mighty sweet sir!
Excuse me.
i know all of thinking why its only 5Mp? why not 8Mp becaise the majority of high end phones now are in 8Mp camera?
The answer is simply because its not in the pixels its in the sensor did you ever guys think why a 5mp camera can shoot a 1080p video? its all in the quality of the camera the lenses and the sensors.
Actually, a 5mp camera can shoot 1080p video simply because it has enough ‘pixels’ in the sensor.
5MP = 2560×1920
1080p = 1920×1080
Sorry, I agree with you, but your explanation as to why a 5mp sensor can shoot 1080p video is wrong.
Megapixels < sensor quality
OMG! Ice Cream Sandwich! Sweet sweet phone, i want one!
Would like to thank whoever showed readers of YugaTech my YouTube videos. Yugatech is a great Pinoy website and I encourage you all to read what Abe has to say because it is totally relevant. Our site in Canada is sort of like this but focuses on different topics but have one great similarity. Passion. Keep up the good work.
Here is my response to Galaxy Nexus and ICS: http://youtu.be/SmAXv9rb8mg
5MP cam.. why not bump to 8 also… this devices are expensive. better include highend parts too, just to be fair.
same sentiments here. But base on the reviews and videos i’ve seen, seems like that 5MP camera is not bad at all (afterall picture and video quality is not based on the MP alone). Whats important is thres no lag (continuous shots) and tons of features in the camera and video mode.
