So it’s finally out and official — the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been revealed and it’s powered by Samsung. The Galaxy Nexus is also the first handset to run Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Google/Samsung Galaxy Nexus specs:
4.65″ HD Super AMOLED screen @ 1280×720 (315 ppi)
TI OMAP 4460 1.2GHz dual-core processor
PowerVR SGX540
1GB RAM
16GB and 32GB internal storage
HSPA+ 21Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
NFC
5MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash
1.3MP front-facing camera
1080p video recording at 30fps
1750mAh Li-Ion battery
Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
It’s not as thin as the Galaxy S2 but very close to it at 8.94mm. Most probably, the HSPA+ variant will arrive in the Philippines instead of the LTE one since our telcos aren’t ready yet to roll out the latter to the public.
The Galaxy Nexus will first be released in Europe, US and Asia this November followed by a global release in the following months. We don’t have any idea on the price though but we’ll update once we get additional details.
Another competitor coming in..
sayang kung binigay sa SE or sa HTC ang pagbuild nito, maganda sana ang design saka pati ang built :)
Maganda naman siya ah. :) ergonomic design.
I agree with you sir, mas maganda ang design ng SE lalu na sa back portion. Motorola ok din, di ko type ang HTC. Ahehe, anyways its just my opinion. Another thing is bakit 5MP lang ang camera, shame!
My Nexus One needs a new friend…
Any idea if and when this will be available locally?
Although I was hoping for some premium looking metal trim on the outside… And you can’t forget about that year old PowerVR SGX540 and 5MP rear cam.
Another thing I’m worried about is if the display uses PenTile Matrix instead of RGB Matrix…
US, Europe, and (major countries in) Asia will enjoy early Christmas on NOVEMBER with Nexus Prime. Lets cross our fingers kahit late November or early December umabot sa Philippines (kahit third-world country lng tyo)…afterall where the most active country in terms of mobile and social media platforms
So, when kaya ang update for galaxy s2?
Hoping sana meron sa S2 update ng ICS..

Hi Abe,
Badly need your advise here. I’m torn between Samsung GS2, iPhone 4S, and Droid RAZR, and Nexus Prime (i like it better than its ugly official name).
Disregrading the price aspect, and to factor in integration of Ice Cream Sandwich to other android devices other than Prime plus possibility of getting Siri fully functional when it reaches global, here are the factors I consider:
1. User-experience
2. Multi-tasking
3. Internet speed
4. Wow-factor
5. Toughness (i’m clumsy)
6. High resu and dependable Camera
7. Extra features
Hoping for your advice.
Thanks!
Hello. If you’re considering toughness as a priority, you may want to avoid iPhone 4s. Watch this drop test from gsmarena. http://blog.gsmarena.com/both-an-iphone-4s-and-an-galaxy-s-ii-take-the-plunge-only-one-survives/
Iphone 4s is the best ever!!!!
iPhone 4S best phone screen resolution, but the smallest screen display of the four. I have no idea yet about Nexus and Razr of Samsung and Motorola which are newly released of their browsing speeds, of course expect better. However, Nexus has the smallest camera resolution.
@Sanji_boi
The iPhone doesn’t have the highest resolution screen. The Nexus has a 720p display crammed in 4.65in screen. Do the dpi math.
Oh, correct me if I’m wrong sir but Nexus only has 315 ppi compared to iPhone’s 326 ppi and I’m talking about the display resolution.
What under the hood matters, Galaxy Nexus beats the iPhone4S hands down. FYI, this is where Apple is short changing its customers or makes a killing, they make the highest profit margin a whopping 30% compared to others which is in single digit at best by using middle class hardware compared to say Samsung which uses top of the line. The only advantage that iPhone4s has is that iOS version 5 or version 4 is more mature than Android. IMO, the latter will mature after the ICS release.
But if you look closer, SGS2 beat Nexus prime in different aspects (and specs). And its cheaper and has a tendency to further drop its price due to emergence of tons of smartphones every other week! Specs and price-wise, i’m leaning towards SGS2 but da*n its pretty hard to decide. My brain sez SGS2 but my heart sez Nexus. Nexus is the perfect FUTURE-ready and FUTURE-proof smartphone, but BS, where the f*ck there is no SD card slot and @ $800 base price its damn expensive! Aaaaarrrg!
It’s a toss up for me between Nexus Prime and Droid RAZR, will wait for the price, Droid RAZR has more muscle not so impressed with the look of Nexus but ICS is a big plus.
uhmmm a little bit disappointed with the design.. looks cheap(parang cherry mobile lang).. but anyways greats specs but seems kinda useless cause theres no application yet that takes advantage of a dual core processor or that graphics processor..still be getting the Sensation XE :D
Trumps Motorola RAZR imo.
Mga 33k to pagdating dito. Sana naman mas mababa.
What can I say, mukang masarap ung OS!!!
Yuga can you please put a detailed list of what’s new in Icecream sandwich.. can’t see a decent source of it yet and I’m too lazy to read engadget’s posts

lupeet… :D
My next phone! (if SGS III is not more awesome) hehe!
mukhang malupit yung ICS ah… hmmmm…
Any idea sa pricing? me bagong pag iipunan na naman.
$800 pre sa abroud. So around Php34,400++ dito sa pinas. Most likely it will hit as high as 37k if a carrier (i guess it will be Smart to match Globe’s flagship smartphone iPhone 4S). Better start saving guys…

(damn typos)
hardware acceleration :))
What is that icon at the bottom of the screen, just above the home button?
App drawer.
If i’m not mistaken its the applications button.
Take that APPLE! Go GOOGLE go! Now its the right time to strike! Crush that dreaded iPhone!
