Been asked about this several times before and now I’ve got the answer. The Android-powered (Eclair) HTC Legend will be formally introduced/released next week.
In an invite-only event on the 29th, HTC will be introducing 3 more smartphones in the Philippines and one of them is the HTC Legend.
I’d put the HTC Legend in the same league and form-factor as the HTC Hero but with some cosmetic improvements (like that solid, silver unibody design).
HTC Legend
3.2 inches AMOLED display @ 320×480 pixels
Qualcomm MSM 7227 600MHz CPU
Android 2.1 with HTC Sense UI
384 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
up to 32GB on microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g
HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP
5MP autofocus camera with LED flash
Stereo FM radio with RDS
GPS w/ aGPS support
1300mAh Li-Ion battery
The other two handsets could be the HTC HD Mini (running WinMo) and the Touch2, both running WinMo entry-level HTC Smart running the Brew Mobile OS. I don’t have the details yet as to the price of the HTC Legend but it could be north of the SRP of the HTC Hero (so possibly around Php30k to Php35k).
Regards just for this post, I’m a big big fan of this internet site would love to go along updated.
magkano na po ang legend ngayon?

Please send me your e-mail so i can update you about the pricing and release date.

@topelectronics: what would be the price of HTC Desire?
sorry for still commenting under the HTC Legend topic.
HTC Desire with HTC Philippines warranty is set to be released this month.
Gah! I was just commenting about the lack of new HTC units in the local market on your SE X10 review, and now I find this? I hope it wouldn’t be too pricey for me.(translation: south of 30k)
if htc legend will be costing 30-35k.
then its no brainer, il just get Google Nexus One, 31.6k @ebuystore
1ghz, 3.7 amoled screen, 512 MB Flash, 512 MB RAM
Why oh why aren’t HTC releasing new Android-powered qwerty phones? AFAIK, the G1 is their only one. I wish they would also pay attention to users who want / need a powerful (ala-N1) phone.
Anyway, I love the unibody case, but the design is not quite HTC-like, but still looks pretty attractive in its own right. I just wonder why they would slap a 600mhz processor in it. Too bad. That’s too slow by today’s standards.
I wonder which other phones would be introduced here though.
No love for htc Tattoo? Is it only a globe exclusive?
Any news if this will be available at Smart, provided the have snatched up the exclusive deal?

A friend from htc told me that htc desire is one the phones that will be evAluated by ntc. Hopefully, it will be released to all networks. But if the proce is somewhere between 30 – 35k or higher, i’d rather go an iphone.
If its anywhere between 30k – 35k, then yes it’s either get a Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO instead.

If the SRP hovers around Php30k to Php35k, then it will be more logical to buy a nexus one. Great phone nonetheless.
still no updates about HTC Desire :(
i’ll probably ask someone to buy Desire for me abroad then bring it here, much cheaper :D siguradong mahal ang SRP nyan kapag dumating sa pinas (if ever) LOL
any news when HTC Desire will arrive in the Philippines? hehe. :D
