HTC One (E8) now official

Back in April, we reported that HTC may be working on a plastic version of their flagship device. Well it seems that the rumormongers were right again as the Taiwanese firm has recently lifted the curtains on the HTC One (E8).

From the specs standpoint, the HTC One (E8) doesn’t differ much from its metal-clad sibling. It’s equipped with the same engine consisting of Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and an expandable 16GB of on-board storage which, of course, are now encased inside a polycarbonate chassis.

But in order to create a slight distinction between the two, HTC has dropped some of the features found on its current torchbearer like the IR Blaster and the use of a 13MP BSI camera with f/2.2 lens for the One (E8)’s rear camera instead of the dual-lens setup seen on the M8.

However, in exchange for these the HTC One (E8) got an extra SIM card slot which is a more preferred feature for the specific market that it’ll cater to.

HTC One (E8) specs:
5-inch full HD Super LCD3 @ 1080×1920 pixels, 441ppi
Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.45GHz quad-core CPU
Adreno 330 GPU

HTC didn’t mention anything about the One (E8)’s price, but they stated that it’ll be available in select markets later this month.

It’s looks nice too. I have seen and held the one m8 and I have to say it’s a thing of beauty, even more gorgeous than the iPhone IMHO. Not that it matters

HTC has too many phones with the same name. Hopefully they would do something better with the naming thing.

Just like Samsung… And Sony… And apple… The only thing that is changing is the gen/ver. number or whatever
