just wondering: if and when I use this device using a SMART sim, can I download torrents? I get the impression that people aren't able to download torrents because of the mediocre speed of smart's (even globe's)basic plug-it. However I've read that SMART network restricts torrent downloads somehow. Did I get the info right? Can somebody shed light into the matter? :)

Great review. The promises from Globe and Smart is always "up to" speeds. Only through delivering internet content localy they would be able to give you this speed. But if we are able to use the p999 deal and in the best locations get more than 2/5 mbps it would be great.

@JapeX

you can still use this modem via Internet configuration settings on your computer, while it's connected to the usb port it will automatically install a network adapter... together with your Local area Network adapter...
simply go to the properties of the usb lan adapter then... go to sharing tab.. then choose share then apply... Now put a straight-through network cable to your lan port of your pc.. and put it to a hub.. Then just let the modem give an ip address to your pc's... "Done" you now have share your connection to other computer with-out buying expensive router... :)
