Kingcom Padphone 61 is biggest smartphone yet

Listen to article

So before the Huawei Ascend Mate lands in the Philippines, this 6.1-inch smartphone from Kingcom could still claim the crown as the biggest one yet. The Kingcom Padphone 61 takes its cue from its namesake, the Asus Padfone.

While the Asus Padfone is a smartphone that transforms into a tablet, the Kingcom Padphone 61 is a tablet-sized smartphone.

The device has been around for some time (mid-January if I can remember it right) and has been getting exposure even on a newspaper ad.

Kingcom Padphone 61 specs:
6.0″ FWVGA display @ 854×480 pixels
Mediatek MTK 6577 1.0GHz dual-core
PowerVR SGX531 GPU
512MB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
3G, Dual-SIM, dual-standby
Wifi 802.11 b/g/n
Stereo FM Radio with RDS
GPS w/ aGPS support
5MP rear camera
VGA front-facing camera
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

The Padphone sells for Php11,318 in all Kingcom stores nationwide.

512MB of RAM for the smartphone of this size is miserable. Go home KingCom, you’re drunk!

Save your money for something better as the ram, reso is not worth the price. With that bigger screen, you get bigger pixels.

I am currently using Galaxy Tab 7.7 for my Globe postpaid line. and 7.7″ > 6.1″. how can 6.1″ be the largest then? FAIL!

Because those products were designed and marketed as tablets? And this one is more of a smartphone/ phablet? Go figure.

Ridiculously low RAM. What’s up with that? It is almost a standard to have at least 1GB RAM.

I had the same comment when I saw the 512mb of ram. It should have at least 1gb ram to be taken seriously.
