Lenovo A660 unveiled, dual-SIM & waterproof

Listen to article

Lenovo has recently announced the A660 – Lenovo’s first IP67-certified Android smartphone, meaning it is waterproof and dustproof. On top of that, it also has dual-SIM capabilities.

The Lenovo A660 also has a 4-inch WVGA display with Gorilla Glass for added toughness, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel camera, VGA front-facing camera, 3G and a decent 1500 mAh battery. All of that spec is housed in a body that can be submerged under a meter of water for 30 minutes.

The A660 will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will come in different colors.

So far no details on pricing and availability but will most likely to land on China first.

The phone is pretty good, they have decent specs and also the rugged features ( i am an outdoor guy).
The real cons is the battery only 1500mah, and also the Dual SIM isn’t quite important if it makes phone consume more battery power…
I hope this phone will be released outside china soon.

I love my affordable Lenovo A60 dual sim phone! Sure speed is slow and ram is inadequate but it still rocks considering I paid less than P6,000 when it was launched last November It’s still working up to now, battery life lasts at least a day and tons of games are loaded.

is it DUAL-SIM 3G? or only SIM 1 3G?

Correct me if i’m wrong, but i think IP67 is only certified as water and dust resistant. It’s the same certification found on Motorola Defy and SE Xperia Active.

Exactly! It’s only water resistant, not water proof

It’s a common mistake, hope it gets corrected ;-) learned it the hard way when may SE Active got water damage after several trips underwater hahaha

DUAL SIM AGAIN??? Sigh. Smartphone nowadays have problems with battery life on just one SIM yet they keep doing this?

there’s nothing wrong with dual sim!!! asian market loves dual sim!! so it wont be a surprise that s3 will have one… even the note2 will have a dual sim feature!!!

but yes its really power consuming!! hope that lenovo could just raise the battery power a bit higher!! like its flagship P700 that could last 2-3 days! 1500mAh is not a good battery for an android device! it should be atleast 2000mAh up now!

Yes sure there’s nothing wrong with dual sims. Yet for those people who find these smartphones lacking of battery juice, we prefer to use a secondary phone which would not bother you if your smartphone runs out of juice.

I just find it bothersome to have a smartphone that keeps you worrying for it’s battery. You are even worried to play with it when you’re not at home.
