Meizu MX tops Antutu Benchmarks

Just when we thought that it’s going to be a two-horse race between the recently launched Samsung Galasxy S3 and the solidly built HTC One X in battle for quad-core supremacy, the Meizu MX quad-core has stolen the show in terms of benchmark scores.

We’ve recently featured the Meizu MX sporting one of the first handsets to be powered by the 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4 Quad-core chip in the market, but we never expected that it will beat Samsung’s very own brainchild. Comparing the three quad-core devices, the almost unheard of Taiwanese handset topped the two other quad-core smartphones by scoring an impressive 12,140 in the Antutu benchmark. Although the SGS3 is not a far second place scoring 11,878, the HTC One X benchmark performance seem to have been left behind only scoring 9,989 in the said benchmark test.

The Meizu MX is really a force to be reckoned with in terms of its performance. But then again, performance is just one of the many things that consumers considers when purchasing a phone. Being a fairly new company, Meizu has yet to prove that their phones are not just pure performance but also has a sturdy build. In any case, this is a very impressive result and with a price-tag of under PhP 20k (16GB variant), this will surely be on Android smartphone enthusiast’s wish list if ever it lands on our country.

Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S III simultaneously in global markets.

According to BGR, the latest S Galaxy will sail 4.8 inches. Although a bit silly, rumor has AMOLED screen Super Plus HD.

Also, in addition to cheap, plastic body is glossy (shiny), with the back made of ceramic. A selection of material is quite interesting.

Another rumor says the phone will be quad-core processor, berperangkat Android 4.0 software, supports 4G LTE network, air-pixel camera is great, competitive and other specifications.

The SGS III has been launched, end of May ang release. Walang ceramic back. Thin, glossy plastic yung battery cover niya. HD Super AMOLED lang ang screen, walang Plus.

I think Meizu is not a Taiwanese company, it’s a Chinese company. And it’s not a new comer, its been in the Chinese market already for sometimes now. They’re main products are mp3 and media players and they’ve Windows phone before too.

was about to say the same thing… Meizu isn’t a newcomer, and it has been infamous for ‘copying’ Apple.

Articles should be screened and edited before publishing.

I have bought a MEIZU product before, a personal music player – the Meizu M6. Well built, has features not available in other music players (then) like video player, fm radio, picture album, text viewer and voice recorder.

I would think the MEIZU would be a good competition to the leading brands for smart phones IF they would come to the Philippines.

Are the Antutu benchmarks independent of screen resolution? The SIII has a higher screen resolution than the MX.
