Nokia 6555 to compete with Motorola Razr

Despite the global dominance of mobile manufacturer Nokia, it still lags behind Motorola in Northern America. This is primarily because of the Razr which had a phenomenal sales performance with most telcos in the US.

Motorola sold 50 million Razr phones in less than 2 years after its debut. So, what will Nokia do to claim the northern regions — a Nokia 6555 Razr-like flip phone.

Nokia 6555

A slim 3G phone with an analog clock. Not very impressive but slick and looks like the Razr in the skinny department.

It’s WCDMA so we know it’s not meant for Asia (except for Japan and India) but the likely target is Europe and the US.

And it’s pretty cheap too (for a 3G phone, that is) — around $200 a pop. When you put that into a 12 or 24-month lock-in, customers could get that for free. Same reason why the Razr were selling like hotcakes in the US.

i’ve owned the phone for over 2 years and have been annoyed by it shuuting off as others have. I also do not understand why nokia has not recalled it as a company should stand behind their product! I will try the paper in the battery box suggestion, but this should Not be necessary!

Moto’s good, but this Nokia is WAY better, because first it’s easier to use, and it has better signal and a better organized sound system. Not to mention, the design of this Nokia. Moto’s done…
