Nokia did a refresh of their year-old E51 candybar business phone and announced the Nokia E52 today without much fanfare.
A lot was was improved from the previous model and the upgrades I think are well worth it.
Nokia E52
2.4 inches screen (240x 320 pixels)
3G/HSDPA up to 10.2Mbps (HSUPA, 2Mbps)
WiFi 802.11 b/g
3.2MP fixed-focus camera with flash (2048×1536 pixels)
Front-facing camera for video calls
ARM 11 600MHz processor
Stereo FM with RDS
Bluetooth 2.0
60MB internal memory (up 16GB on microSD)
GPS with A-GPS support and Nokia Maps 3.0
This phone is much thinner at 9.9mm (as slim as the Nokia 5310 while the E51 is 12mm) and still gets a 3.5mm audio jack. Has a 1500mAh battery that can last 8 hours on a phone call and 6 hours on 3G. What is most intruiging is that it’s powered by a 600MHz ARM 11 CPU, almost twice as fast as the latest Nokia 5800.
Suggested retail price – $326 (~Php15k) but could go down to the same price as the E51 (Php12-13k) when it first came out.
I don’t suppose I’ve never read anything like this before. So nice to find someone with some original thoughts on this subject. I really thank you for starting it. This website is something that is wanted on the internet, somebody with a little originality.
I had been using this marvelous piece of invention since May. The negative review is due to the fact that when the phone was released Q3 OF 2009, it has some bug on it. But as of today, Nokia has released the updated software 34.001.01 that definitely solve those previous issues. Being a previous owner of an E51 who wanted an upgrade, I have a strong reason to believe that this is the best phone for me. I had the White Aluminum version which is quite rare. My friendly Nokia dealer in Alabang Town has reserved this rare version for me.
base on the reviews on the other site negative reviews comes from western countries, but if you read all the comments positive outweigh the negative.
ive been using e51 for 2 years and i have my e52 for a month great phone.
Thinking of buying this for my husband for Christmas but the reviews in the other sites are bad. Like it shuts down by itself, GPS crashes, and IMEI motherboards need to be updated.
Has anyone had a bad experience with the ones bought here in the Phils? This would be perfect for the wifi, price range, color, size and most of all Battery life.
If it keeps crashing or breaking down though forget it!
wow..seems really nice, super thanks to ate for it’s coming my way..
tama ba to? e51 cost P10,200 eh 20 months ago pa tong model.
is this out in philippine markets already?
Sang mall meron ng nokia e52?
not good ..iniexpect q na slide phone sya pero classic phone pala sya..so disapointed
for 15K siguro..meron ng mas magandang phone na mabibili dyan..
Yuga, it should be “fanfare.”
need a new phone. hope I can afford this.
e51 finally got a refresh since its announcement 20 months ago.
impressive cpu, but poor internal memory (60mb only) vs (old) E51’S 130MB.
hey nokia, whats the rationale behind this?
as for e52 black-colored phone, it seems it come out late in the second wave pa(as per trending).
the specs of e52 in GPU and SOUND categories were silent. i guess its really the specialty of n-series line.
ot: there hasnt been a true n82 refresh yet. hoping for this one to come out soon with latest s60 9.4 OS (and wishing it would have the e51’s keypad -best ever?). i just love monoblocks. hehe.
Nokia got it right in E51, I guess they are cashing on it again. I’ve been using E51 for months and it been a solid performer, some of the gripes are poor camera, no front camera and poor battery life. Looking at e52’s specs, it seems they responded to the complaints. But i’m not in a hurry to upgrade my e51, it still does the work.
Usually, around 3 months after it is announced.
abel, do you have any idea when it’s coming to rp?
WHOAAA…. ANYONE CARES TO GAVE ME THIS ONE FOR MY BIRHTDAY!!
I am using E51 currently and personally I say that the features are good. Not much intriguing for me (speed) cause my E51 not as slow as N70.
