Nokia Lumia 920 officially arrives in the PH for Php27k

Nokia’s flagship phone has officially arrived in Philippine shores – the Nokia Lumia 920 and is now being sold at a surprising retail price of just under Php27k.

The phone has been announced and released last holiday season and has only been available for purchase in the Philippines through other shops and sources since then, but not through Nokia’s official store. We’ve seen it arrive lately through Nokia, but it wasn’t on sale still.

I was an Android user before. Pero I was never comfortable with it. Yes there are customizations but I don’t usually customize my phones a lot. I have better things to do. So nung nilabas nila ito, I was among the first one to buy dito sa amin. Until now, sobrang solb pa rin ako sa kanya. I don’t play lots of games sa phone ko. I have psp for gaming. Pero I love the fact na ang ganda ng camera nito. It can be a substitute for my bulky SLR’s pag di ko sila dala at merong moment na dapat icapture.

And what can you get from posting idiotic comments?

    • Avatar for wp8zuck wp8zuck says:

      @edisson

    • Avatar for edisson edisson says:

@wp8zuck ANG TANGA MO PO!! with that price tag, why would I buy 920? yes I dream for 920 but seeing the price is so not worth it. sa mahal nang yan mas pipiliin ko pa ang z10.

    • Avatar for Bongbong Bongbong says:

Pipiliin mo ang BBZ10 over this 920? i got a friend na my BBZ10, sabi niya ang hirap daw inavigate. knowing techy xa at halos may Note pa nga at iPhone. tinry niya ang BB, hindi user friendly at magulo pa ang OS nya kc hindi pa ganun kamature ang BB sa smartphone.. plan ko nga rin bumili nun, eh nung nag search ako sa net, daming complaints nga sa BBz10.

  4. Avatar for meh meh says:

You would have to be crazy to buy this for 27k, its so thick and just not worth it. Windows phone really lacks apps

    • Avatar for edisson edisson says:

Agree.

    • Avatar for Ren Ren says:

Tama! 3rd world country din tayo, kaya dapat mas mura! Dapat maintindihan nila!

  5. Avatar for jaize jaize says:

I was waiting for this but I think it was indeed late.. Sobrang dami na lumabas na on par at better than this. If nokia want their OS to be tried, sana magbago pricing nila. Too expensive for the specs, btw.

    • Avatar for Rye Rye says:

Agree!

this is a real good phone, win 8 os is also good, its just being used to it, or I say the learning curve is stiff for win 8, not the usual windows though.

  11. Avatar for allen83 allen83 says:

    • Avatar for wp8zuck wp8zuck says:

i have lumia 920 too. wag mo lituhin ang mga potentianl buyers. this phone is pretty but more than that boring sya at not worth its price tag.

sa mga gusto bumili, mag galaxy note 2 na lang kayo. theres so much more things that you can do sa android apps and support kesa wp8. hilaw at limited. pag sisishan nyo ang lumia 920.

    • Avatar for marlon marlon says:

I have to agree @wp8zuck. WP8 may be fluid but it isn’t as flexible as Android. I’m not talking about customizing its UI but on its multi-tasking capability, its limited app functionality, its contact management that can’t even recognize multiple mobile phone numbers and custom types, etc.

    • Avatar for edisson edisson says:

@wp8zuck hindi ka magsisisi kung naiintindihan mo ang windows phone. yes kaunti ang apps niya, yes lesser customization compared sa android. but if you had done research first before buying 920, you surely won’t buy it in the first place and if you still bought it despite of its lackings, dapat magtiis ka kasi may warnings na nga pero tinuloy mo pa rin ang pagbili.

  15. Avatar for fr0stbyte fr0stbyte says:

Three months late and it’s still that expensive? I would have considered such a price back in December but not now. You’ve already got phones that have in them the new Snapdragons 600s. Why the hell are you always late to the party Nokia?!

    • Avatar for Lorenz Lorenz says:

Kung alam mo lang kung gaano kahirap makahanap ng stock nito nung una siyang lumabas sa US…

    • Avatar for paul e. paul e. says:

‘coz we’re a third world country. hindi tayo target market for nokia lumias. pang asha series lang tayo. ;)

    • Avatar for fotolocco fotolocco says:

this phone was released in the country I am at last December. Until now mahirap pa rin makakuha ng stocks lalo na yung red at yellow at white. some friends waited 1 month. Pero it is all worth it.

    • Avatar for ThisIsLumia ThisIsLumia says:

I totally agree with you! I’ve been waiting everyday since it’s announcement in September. I really thought it’s price would drop since arrived late here. Better wait for a new phone in Nokia World in September… obviously it will arrive here in Feb 2014 too. lol

  16. Avatar for Apollo Apollo says:

Then I shall wait a little longer until the price is 20k – 23k :)

  17. Avatar for Uluvadu Uluvadu says:

At early 2013 this is innovative as a bar of soap.

    • Avatar for Lorenz Lorenz says:

You mean hindi considered “innovative” ang 8MP PureView camera niya na may optical image stabilization? How about NFC? And Qi wirelesss charging? None of these of which are available on the iPhone 5.

      Ingat-ingat sa pagsasalita :3

    • Avatar for thecorrescode thecorrescode says:

      Hindi talaga siya innovative.

NFC – Nexus S which was released 2010 may NFC na.

    • Avatar for cywel cywel says:

@thecorrescode Nokia 6131 was the first NFC phone! :P

Nexus S is just the first android phone with NFC

    • Avatar for seraphica seraphica says:

      wireless charging sa android???

bkit wala un sa mga samsung, sony, or htc phones??? LOL XD

    • Avatar for Abed M. Abed M. says:

      Nasa LG maybe. LOL

    • Avatar for marlon marlon says:

Palm Pre (not an Android) supports wireless charging (Touchstone) so this isn’t an innovative feature.

    • Avatar for ThisIsLumia ThisIsLumia says:

How about the great Low Light images it can produce because of the pureview technology? I’m pretty sure it’s the best phone when it comes to low light photography!

It also has a supersensitive screen. Even thought it’s not new, what other phone has that feature that you can use everyday?

Yes, image stabilization, wireless charging, and NFC may not be new pero it’s innovative kasi lahat ng features na ito ay nasa isang phone lang! If you’re complaining, bili ka ng 5 phone na may each features na yan!

      It’s more innovative than anything!

    • Avatar for marlon marlon says:

It’s not the best phone when it comes to low light photography. You’re forgetting the 808 PureView exists.

    • Avatar for edisson edisson says:

No it’s not. Pureview 808 is the best camera phone but Lumia 920 beats it in low light.

    • Avatar for thecorrescode thecorrescode says:

@seraphica, DROID BIONIC released in 2011 already has wireless charging. Even Google Nexus 4 supports wireless charging. You can even buy back cover for Galaxy S and S2 para magsupport ng wireless charging. So it is not innovative kasi age old technology na yan. Inintegrate lang ni Nokia.

  18. Avatar for allen83 allen83 says:

Yup promo nila ng cash is 27k but for a credit card the difference is big it will cost you about 31k. I just ask it today at nokia sm north edsa

  19. Avatar for Lex Lex says:

Its expensive for its dual core, 1 gb ram.

    • Avatar for ThisIsLumia ThisIsLumia says:

Just like the Iphone 5 (which is more expensive). Believe it or not, the dual cores on these phones can match up with note 2’s quad-core.

Quality phones don’t need quad cores to stop lag; they can do it with dual only. Plus this phone has so many features that it must be more expensive (at least for me)

    • Avatar for Jon Jon says:

Iba naman ang iphone eh! Yung nokia pababa na, mahal pa rin ng presyo

    • Avatar for di di says:

So you mean that only Apple can have an overpriced product?

    • Avatar for marlon marlon says:

@ThisIsLumia It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a phone that mostly displays oversized text like WP8 performs better than one that can do a lot of stuff. Once you get past the loading animations, you’ll know how slow it does things.

    • Avatar for Jay Jay says:

I have a Lumia 800, a single-core device and I’m not complaining about lag. Because when I see my friend’s dual-core Android, mine is still faster than his.

    • Avatar for Gabb Gabb says:

I gotta agree. There’s something about the android software that needs ‘faster’ (i.e. quadcore) processors so that it won’t lag. Whereas Windows phone is able to make their software that can require a ‘lower’ kind of processor without any/few lags

      P.S
I’m not a windows phone fan but it’s just something i noticed based from experience

    • Avatar for Name:Koken Name:Koken says:

Android is java based which means a heavier OS. Compared to Windows 8 which is stable and can optimized the whole core.

    • Avatar for thecorrescode thecorrescode says:

Android is not java, but dalvik. Sana manlang nagresearch bago nagpost.

    • Avatar for ThisIsLumia ThisIsLumia says:

@marlon How slow it goes? Please, I have a lumia 920 and it performs better than my note 2. at least lag-wise. I bet you don’t even own a windows phone.

    • Avatar for marlon marlon says:

@ThisIsLumia Oh please. I used to own a Samsung Focus and now have a Lumia 820 and a Galaxy S3 so let’s not use the “you don’t own-a WP phone” argument here. WP7/WP8 makes better use of visual cues when it loads something up which makes it look fast. You don’t notice the loading time because of this. Also, the UI doesn’t look that busy with just a minimal set of elements like text that can be easily scaled up and doesn’t use much processing.

If you read my previous comment carefully, this is the point I’m trying to make.

Pathetic. Article from 2011 pa yan. Google released Jellybean way back May 2011 at kasama dun yung tinatawag na Project Butter.

    • Avatar for Everard Everard says:

Nokia Lumia 920 only has a dual-core processor and a 1GB of RAM simply because its more than enough to run a Windows 8 OS with excellent performance.
It is only reasonable to compare smartphones based on their hardware specs only when they are running the same OS.

new android phones from htc, lg and sony are way better and more exciting…padating na rin yung sa samsung…sana inagahan ng nokia yung release..no wonder mababa price niya..
