Announced in Korea back in January, the Galaxy Express is Samsung’s way to bring LTE to everyone. That means, a fairly capable handset that’s almost similar to the Galaxy S3 with a wide variety of LTE support at a more affordable price.
The Samsung Galaxy Express sits between the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S3 Mini. LTE support for 800MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz ensures that a lot of carriers will be able to carry it.
The variant they announced back in January only has a dual-core processor and 5MP camera but the one they launched here in Jakarta yesterday is slightly better with a quad-core chip and 8MP camera.
Samsung Galaxy Express specs:
4.5-inch Super AMOLED+ display @ 480×800 pixels, 207ppi
1.2GHz quad-core processor
1GB RAM
8GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD card
HSPA+, 4G LTE (800/900/1800/2600)
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
MHL
GPS w/ aGPS
8MP rear camera
1.3MP front-facing camera
Li-Ion 2,000mAh battery
Android 4.1.2 Jellybean
132.2 x 69.1 x 9.3mm (dimensions)
139.1 grams (weight)
I think they dropped the NFC on this one though.
Since both Smart and Globe supports LTE band 1800MHz, we think Samsung will be able to bring this handset in the Philippines and offering it just a little above the price point of the Galaxy S3 Mini.
We asked Samsung reps about the release and availability of the unit and they indicated it could be sometime in March (as usual, that’s still subject to customs approval).
Hi everyone, it’s my first pay a visit at this web
page, and paragraph is truly fruitful in support of me,
keep up posting such posts.
Very good blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring
writers? I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m
a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a
free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out
there that I’m totally confused .. Any tips? Thanks!
Awesome website you have here but I was curious about if you knew of any discussion boards that cover
the same topics talked about here? I’d really like to be a part of group
where I can get opinions from other knowledgeable people that share the same interest.
If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Appreciate it!
smart’s LTE is band 1, 2100Mhz, FYI po (trust me, i worked for their customer service). they might support 1800 Mhz later though, who knows.
I read a lot of article regarding Samsung Galaxy Express and a lot of them said that it only has 5mp camera, but in your review, it’s 8mp. Yea, I agree, which is true? Really need your answer on this. And how will I know if it’s 8mp? Specs/features were not written on the box. Badly need your help on this. Thanks
I read in CNET that this phone’s camera is just 5mp. It’s 8mp in your review. Which is true?
wanted to clarify.. is it dualcore or quadcore?
kasi sa gsmarena dualcore lang cya eh..

thanks in advance.
Can you say “crap-o-la”?
.eh since its sortong between galaxy s3 and s3 mini mukhang anh presyo nito ay not for everyone. .so roughly mga 15 to 20k? Kung 4990 kang yan maniniwala akong for everyone yan!
My guess is that it’s going to be FREE when you subscribe to an LTE plan.
For everyone means Its for the mass,
sana abot kaya lang
i thought 2100 mhz ang supported ni globe at smart instead of 1800 mhz?
From what Globe stated before, it’s Band 3 1800MHz
sad cause our local networks does not support prepaid LTE pa. hehe.
Is this true? Because I’m using a prepaid TM sim and I occasionally get LTE. Unless that’s all in my head…
ano ba network mo? SUN? wala talagang LTE yun. Per Globe, may LTE prepaid as long as supported and unit na gamit mo.
Wala pang prepaid plans/promos for LTE ang Globe at Smart. Pero sabi ng Globe they WILL.
Question lang po… what’s the usual requirements ng phone para maging LTE siya?
Er… It needs to have LTE radios to be LTE-capable…
And your sim should have LTE provision by your telco…
in layman’s term, dapat kaya niyang sumagap ng LTE cellular radio signal. may mga special chips (processor, chipset, etc) sa phone na pang lte..
