Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is now official

Samsung has finally announced the next generation Galaxy Note. Dubbed the Galaxy Note 2, the phablet has the striking semblance of the Galaxy S3 and is packed with a solid hardware configuration.

Aside from the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Note 2 is among the the first handsets that’s been announced to come with Android Jellybean pre-installed.

Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 specs:
5.5″ HD Super AMOLED display @ 1280×720 pixels
Exynos 4 Quad 1.6GHz
2GB RAM
16GB, 32GB, 64GB internal storage
up to 64GB via microSD card
HSPA+ 21Mbps or 4G LTE 42Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, dual band 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz
WiFi Direct
NFC
MHL
Bluetooth 4.0
8MP rear camera, 1080p video recording
1.9MP front-facing camera
GPS with aGPS support
3100mAh Li-Ion battery
Android 4.1 Jellybean

Samsung did not indicate the retail price of the Galaxy Note 2 but we expect it will be almost in the same range as the first one (around Php35k). The Note 2 will start shipping out this October in the US and Europe to be followed by Asia (so that’s November to December here in the Philippines).

All this marketing has made all of us zombies to technology. Aminin man o hindi at one point in our lives we all wanted to get the gadget with the “high end” specs but suddenly realize that there is more to the gadget itself in order to maximize it’s full potential. Some of these outside factors worth noting is the hardware support – (not all hardware companies have great cust serv support here sa p.i. and if you’ve purchased yours through grey market, alam na! ) Connectivity options – internet service is not at par with other countries yet we pay so much for it anyway! Then you suddenly realize na sa dinamidami ng features ng gadget mo, di mo naman nagagamit lahat..just my 2 cents lang. To each his/her own naman =)

Pero I would like to hold my judgement on the Optimus G until yung functionality ay kagaya ng note 2, please see the link below:

Btw, gaya ng mga sinasabi ng mga iSheep parati, “Apple doesn’t focus on the specs, they focus on the user experience”.

You won’t need that kind of specs like Optimus G kung walang selling point yung device.

I have the first Beast(Note). Galaxy Note has a league of it’s own. I believed that it’s geared towards productivity and not only games! The capacity of this Beast to enable gamers to play great games is just a plus side. Now it’s official, the 2nd Beast has been released :)

Samsung has better support for its phones, and with the Note getting apps specific for its S-pen, it’s clear that Sammy has a winner in the Note and Note 2 (which is in a class on its own).

Without apps to really demand a more powerful GPU, the level of the S3 and Note2 is sufficient.

Sayang, maganda talaga ang specs ng Optimus G, but the smartphone / tabphone experience is more on the support of the manufacturer with its native apps and updates.

please… make a different design naman!

    • Avatar for gadgetsnion gadgetsnion says:

    • Avatar for beefsteak beefsteak says:

Agreed.

      That’s all. Thank you.

The back cover of ‘Optimus G’is made of glass and gives users diverse look depending on the light and the angle you see it via ‘Crystal Reflection’ design. LG has registered ‘Crystal Reflection’ design at the patent office. ‘Optimus G’ is an unibody that gives the impression of a dressed-up gentleman.

The s3-ish appearance doesn’t really pose an issue for me… maybe it shouldn’t unless you want to get your hands on both devices… i was actually thinking of getting an s3 and an ipad (for reading)… 2 in 1… naka tipid pa ako… :D still waiting for the iphone5 though… let’s see…

The real seller will be the new and improved S-Pen. Personally, if you have the Gnote, you could stay content, but I think the more responsive stylus would be good if you’re using this device for writing, editing, etc. Oh and it’s running Jellybean…means it’s faster. :-)
