Samsung introduces Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame

Some phones we just don’t see coming — and two of those are handsets are the Samsung’s Galaxy Fame and Samsung Galaxy Young.

Both devices target the people who are looking for the affordable Android handsets. For some reason, it could be the successors of the Galaxy Pocket and the original Galaxy Y.

The Samsung Galaxy Young will be available in white, deep blue, wine red and metallic silver. The Samsung Galaxy Fame on the other hand will be featuring white and blue colors only. Both will be available with dual SIM versions, and will feature a lightweight version of the full-blown Nature UX, called Motion UI, where people can update widgets by a shake and mute calls by flipping the phone over.

Samsung Galaxy Young specs:
3.27” HVGA display (320 x 480, 176ppi)
1GHz Processor
4GB internal storage with micro SD
768MB RAM
Android 4.1
3MP rear camera, VGA@24fps
Bluetooth 3.0
WiFi
58.6 x 109.4 x 12.5 mm

1,300 mAh

Samsung Galaxy Fame specs:

No prices have been given yet, but everything seems more than acceptable especially since we know it’s targeted at replacing Samsung’s lower-end devices.

  2. Cody says:

battery is weak. those phones will probably need to be charged twice a day.

    • garz says:

They run on single-core processors and doesn’t sport AMOLED displays and other flamboyant stuff their big brothers have. So no, they won’t be needing charging twice a day.

    • goboi says:

the current galaxy y with a slower processor and smaller screen with the same battery can barely get 20 hours of normal usage.

  3. Nines says:

Still not good, these will still be pwned by the dual-core WVGAs of Cherry Mobile units.. at the same price ranges.

  4. inna says:

Samsung’s pumping out new models every few months. Kinda confusing now. And specs aren’t even impressive. Better just get a Samsung Galaxy Grand. Big Screen, Dual-Sim, Better Processor.

  9. H says:

samsung galaxy grand duos kaya, kelan?

  10. lawrence says:

Why does the Young (768MB) has more RAM than the Fame (512MB)? Both has similar specs where the Fame has larger screen and better camera and a front facing camera. i don’t get it…
