Samsung launches its first Windows Phone 8 device, the Ativ S, along with other Windows 8 products. The Samsung Ativ S is tailored for business-oriented people who also like to work and play at the same time.
The Ativ S is Samsung’s reply to HTC and Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 devices. The Ativ S has a lot of similarities with the Galaxy S III, mainly because it’s the Windows Phone counterpart of the Android powered device. It features a lot of design elements that are also found in the Galaxy S III like the unique Titanium Gray color scheme and the brushed metal effect on the back.

Its not about the $100 registration fee why developers are shying away from developing apps for windows phone, its about the programming language. In fact there are alternative to the $100 developer account, theres yallapps and the likes. its because Native code is not supported. Now that windows phone 8’s kernel is shared with that of windows 8 most likely the developer community will build numbers. proprietary code is the reason why developers are holding back to developing for windows phone 7.xx not the registration fee.
Im a wp 7.5 user and yes somehow its boring because i cant do more because the lack of premium, quality apps. Kung katulad siya ng android, ill love it more. Pero performamce wise mabilis talaga siya. I hope more developers create apps for wp (sana pati sa windows 8).
the reason why WP marketplace lacks apps is because of their shitty developer policy. You can’t compile your code to your phone if you’re phone is not registered on their system which requires you to pay $100 annually. Marami pang factors, but I think eto yung pinaka problema…
kung marami lng sanang apps and games windows.. solve na solve nako..windows phones are so boring!
Grabe! Ang bagal pa rin ng Nokia magrelease ng kanilang bagong phones!
25k! Too expensive! Does a WP8 need to use dual core processor? I think its too much processing power.
Huh?! alam mo ba sinasabi mo?
put down the joint…
a) high
b) drunk
sana meron ding WP8 na counterpart ang note 2…
someone doesn’t really know how the live tiles work.
What an ug]y interface the WP 8 has. So do you want to keep staring all day until something or someone updates making a tile flip over. Does that make you happy, really? Good luck with that.
haha, halatang di mo pa nagagamit. good luck trolllllllllllll
LOL!!! once you got one. you’ll never gonna go back.
definitely someone who hasn’t used W8.
@techie05 I got one and I want to throw it off the wall. Live tiles are way too overrated. The calendar tile, for example, can only show you one event.
Pano makakagamit eh nag da download pa sa Bay
@sam, buti k pa nauna, e di p nga lumalabs ang windows phone 8, halatang nag iimbento ka lang, weeeh…..kakahiya ka…
My bad, I was talking about WP7/WP7.5. I was an early adopter of this platform (Samsung Focus) and I hated how crippled the OS is. I was expecting more when they launched WP8 but got disappointed with the changes.
Try mo muna gumamit.
I won’t risk buying one just to try it out. From what I’ve seen on the product demos, the upgrades are not worth it, at least for me.
windows phone is really something to look forward to… it may look so simple.. but if you look at it very well, in my opinion its better than ios.. its looks not interesting for now coz it still has limited apps… but in windowsp phone, no need to download app for fb,twitter, gmail, yahoomail. definitely there will gonna be more updates to come :)
With regards to the built-in FB and Twitter support, I still find both lacking. FB in WP is still considered third-party application which means you won’t see all posts from your friends without them changing their privacy settings. You can’t also send offline messages. With Twitter, you don’t have the ability to send DMs. Bottom line is you still need to install apps which BTW, perform poorly compared to their counterparts from rival OS.
I still prefer the native FB app integrated in WP7 compared to the official app released by Facebook. It’s Buttery smooth and the interface is really great, although it lacks some features but it works well for the casual user. If you just want to check/post status, leave a reply and check their photos then you won’t ask for more.
Probably not the most physically attractive WP8 phone in the line-up
